The mini stars own themselves. Back in 1979, it was announced we adopt a higher wage policy to improve productivity, to go value added industries simply because we cannot compete w/ other countries in wages.
So lower wages can improve productivity?
So should be asking all mini stars to cut their annual wages by 30%.
Life will be even tougher from now onwards.
Now they want to compete with lower wages BUT increased productivity.
A double whammy for workers.
why dun the ministers pay be cheaper also? a bit ironic for him to say so right? citizens pay can be lower, but not the ministers?
time to vote for the alternative when the GE comes around. I am so sick of his BS.

We are lesser mortals.
We will never understand them.
Just like their theory of increasing GST to help the poor.

PAP of e past: Responsive, willing to bite e bullet, flexible to change policy to suit e times.
Today: Slow, unwilling to bite e bullet, inflexible to change expecting ppl to evolve ard their 'excellent' policy since it's drafted by e highly paid well scholars.

No, increasing GST to 7% or 9% or 15% to help the poor.

Repeat until it gets drilled into everybody's head.
Catchy slogans by politician to tug at the heartstrings of Singaporeans, are cheapshots.
Singapore can never be cheaper, better, faster than China or India! Or for this matter, cheaper, better, faster than Korea or Taiwan. Even small fly, Thailand, is slowly but surely building up its engineering capabilities.
For small country Singapore to survive among the gaints, she needs to identify her niches, seizes global market opportunities and rides on a global trends.
For these to work, the govt and its people must gel together as one, and take swift and sharp turns as a situation arises.
The current deteriotating situation of politician-mastery and citizen-slavery will not bring us far. Worse still, cheap slogans to distract citizens, will bring us no long term good.
Singapore should go back to its founding principles. In running this country, our earlier challenges and constraints that have confounded us, will continue to do so even thousands years from now.
To do as lim Swee say said, we shall just sack him and replace him with foreigner to attain cheaper , better and faster.
