why no legal action to the oil tanker operators?

Our coast and the region has been polluted with Oil spill..... until now there has been no statement from them about helping out on cleaning the spill on the shore? MPA or any of our govt ministery has kept quiet on taking legal action and held accountable on the tanker operators ?
Why are Singaporeans so contended to be quiet?
"The wrost remarks i came across is that Singapore shorelines are not clean so it makes not different...."
If we continue to let pollutors get away especially big oil companies and tankers operators we are doomed....

Yeah, but didn't the major oil companies help clean up the oil spill?
Do we punish someone for being accidentally inclined or for purposefully laspeful?

I collected 2 drums of it, altogether about 88 gallons, filtered it thru wax paper to get diesel out of it for 2 days, the residues sold to engine repair shops along ang mo kio industrial park as engine cleaning soil . and the diesel use for my back up generator at our backyard, so that we dun hv to pay so much power supply bills
Go collect it, it is free, especailly near changi side, lots of it, just get a pick up will do....

i believe the Law does not protect negligent not to mention that there are enough navigation technologies to avoid collision. Ships operator will need to take measure to prevent unnecessary "accidents"
Saw the picture nobody was giving way it smack right into the mid section....we are not referring a small boat but an "Oil Tanker"

Ship is not like car, even if it come to a halt, it still move under the laws of movement, so it is a case of too late, too careless. And if you look at the tanker, it got one layer of hull only, by the rule, it should be double hulled.

i think after clean up singapore should take legal actions against the parties involved. no damage report on our environemnt yet but even if its minor we should claim.
i think the sailors and hauptman all sleeping on the job set the ship on autopilot must be.
next time oil tankers all must have weapon and cannons on board. see any obstacle just open fire. good to guard aaginst pirates as well.

helllo, when i was there, a few hundreds of peoples were carrying buckets, drums and container to collect, got oil come your country, you should go and collect, do not waste oil and also help to clean the beaches. US$70/barrel ok, not cheap hor -
2.000 tonnes of it in water, imagine, how many cars can use for life.

Action will be against the owners of the ship, the captain, steering and navigation officers will be sack, the crews are innocent. -

who said? a thorough inspection must go to see what is the root cause. maybe the cook got a new porn vcd and had the world crew in the bunk watching it. maybe the world crew had a good drink last nite and moring the people manning the wheel all practising jacky chan drunken fist? -

The MPA (Maritime & Port Authority) already said that it will NOT tap into pooled fund resources (Revolving fund) to offset the cost of the final bill for Tuesday's Oil Spill off Changi Coast. (reported in Straits Times, Friday)

the ship bridge control the ship movement, prot and starbaord, the captain sit on the bridge, he oversea the whole movement, under him are navigator, , sterring man, radio officer and maybe a radar officer. When ship is sailing the door to the bridge is lock and not acessible to other crews, the responsiblility of the people bridge is to ensure the ship sail in the correct direction and position.

i sit on my toilet bowl waiting for my wate material to exit. on my left are my hanging toilet paper, below me the toilet boal, my right the tap to wash hands and buttocks. on top is the ventilation shift and top far right the window for air circulation. in front is the sliding door for privacy. underneath my flooring is my neighbour. after i finished my business i reach for my left realised that the people incharge of buying toliet paper never buy dye and reach for my tap realised i haven pay my PUB bills so no water.
