Question about the structure of armies

Why does the armies of today still maintain the 'elites" and "peasants" structure?

because this structure has been in place forthousands of years and will never change !
your boss is the feudal lord, you're the serf !
the only difference is we're not working in the fields anymore but in the office !

To me, I think military is full of corruption. Those officers think they are so powerful they can do anything and everything that they want.
I konw of an officer who requested for his extra duties to be on weekdays, when he himself confine soldiers on weekends.

Officers have their previleges. Humans are mostly self interest type, they care for themselves first. You can hardly find a person who are compassionate and honest in his/her living, it is not that there is no person, but the world cannot accpet it and most probably these people end up extincted or joined the selfish group.
Having said officers are doing it for themselves, what if you become an officer are you going to let your men do duties on weekdays and you take over the weekends?? Alway put yourself in other position, from there your perspective can be broaden, otherwise, you mindset will alway constrict to one point of view.
