I won't be surprised if somebody buys it. As long as the population keeps increasing, prices will continue to rise.

if we had a 6 million population, what would the price of resale flats be - (2 million per unit - this is just my assumption only)

just because most singaporean want to sell their million dollar asset doesn't mean there are enough buyers to take up huge loan to pay for their near million HDB....
In any case if you don't intervene this forum nobody would not call you a Crazy barking Dog.

if a foreigner can afford 1 million they would have chosen private condo.....

There is a price to service a condo, which can goes up to 500 or 1k per mth for luxury type like my silversea. And frankly, condo are not as big as old time HDB flat, especially those executives penthouse type or those jumbo type which delighted the foreigners who if from China, like big big house for their parents and even sibling to come in to stay and share the payment. In China, every flats is called condos, so if you tell a china chinese you are living in a condo like mine, they said it is common, so they view HDB as a condo, with cheap service charges, for most foreigners, they dun fancy swimming pool or spa pools at all, the different btw a condo and a HBD flat is merely the pools, the security guards and the high maintaining fees.
its HUDC, what can you expect
It's "affordable".
that's crazy.. HDB flats has become the house for the rich. what's next.. Employee sleeps in their office because house is too expensive?
Jurong East St 13 leh.. Jurong Lake new district wo
Wah... Need win toto 2 times den can buy a HDB flat! WTF!
I always say this:
HDB flats that cost $1 million dollars will not just be an economic problem of just dollars and cents.
It will be a very big social problem when that happens.

hard to happen since population growth is not capped @ max yet. wait until 2 million more enter Singapore. I wouldn't be surprise if the price rises to 1.5m.
i hope the 2m population is mostly from the bangala or china ppl
