Rumour has it that Goh Keng Swee's son did not serve NS when conscription first came out. He was ultimately called in to serve "part time" in the police. The same happened to a few other MP's sons.

i read in the sat newspaper on some of his notable work...or speeches...
here are some of the extracts that caught my attention as contrast in todays leadership.......
"Slashing Civil Salary"....when he was a finance minister we long to see that act again.
He talks about moral hazard between government and its people....
"We must not underestimate the ability of Singaporeans to think for themselves and come to their own judgement. "

In other countries there are divisions of their history between pre wwII and post wwII. I think for Singapore it is necessary to made that division and able to study some of the thinking and decision of the post wwII politics.

i think the formal ministers who promoted YOG is okay. now i don;t know why pm so free to even promote YOG. can't his subordinates do the job. pay millions and so free to attend to this kind of events that his subordinates can handle. paid millions to do this kind of job arh? so free issit?

The days that Goh Keng Swee present in the PAP was a bunch of good n responsible PAP ministers.But unfortunely,some "Big Fuk" in the party dont know when to quit n make way for the new generation leader.Thats when everything goes wrong!!!
Fortunately for Goh Keng Swee,he is a wiseman who knows when to quit,n thus,earn the respect of his countrymen n women n a good reputation after he went to the God.
God will dote those who are good n abandon those who do too many evil things.Amen.

But how about u?Still helping some PAP losers?To the present PAP ministers:Goh Keng Swee is a good model of PAP minister,he contribute to this country n retire without hesitation.Whereas some loser "Old Man" block the way of others n thereby,become a bad model in the party.
Hope the reaction from the public in memorial to Goh Keng Swee can wake up some losers in the PAP.
