ya, electrical bills haven't count leh
Well, we would like to speak good of SG but the reality sucks... some ppl are not really cut up to be up there and enjoying extra ordinary luxury life with a annual paycheck that majority of us would not get in a lifetime...
To be fair, Singapore is still good place to make a living, if only you dun mind the govt wayof doing things, not all their policies are bad, some really do help us alot. The reality is, if singapore is no good, long long most of us will be gone, and no foreigners will like to come here as we will be unable to attract them. So, except for a few elites who went overseas to study and end up migrating there, the majority of Singaporean still feel that it is a good place to make a living, enjoy life and retire peacefully.

look if some of u haters hate singapore that much then go to other country la, be a "PR" on other nation. I dont get it, i know this place is all about expressing our views on singapore but it looks like u all insulting more than praising. All these pure rage offensive words and these "fuck pap" talk, u guys actually think that posting in sgforums can help? u think the goverment actually come in speaker corners?
Everyone has a good and bad things. But looks like u guys ONLY see the negative side of singapore. Not even one bit of the positive side here. The good people from singapore here are trying to put singapore outside this name known as "one little dot or 'isn't that a part of china' crap". By organizing youth olympics, put up in the top 10 of the best economy around asia, try bringing in tourist attraction by creating IR, universal studio and some others. Come on, we have our very own vegas here. Yes i know our money may have sometimes involve in these (like some of u said) but u think the goverment just going to leave it be? They confirm thinking of ways to earn back our money and such like for example, that money from the goverment that they give us, remember?
U guys just complain like as if the goverment are abusing us. U think they like taking our money? they are humans too u know. All of these has some disadvantage and flaws if they do some certain actions. So they need to think ahead. U think this important role is easy? THIS ISN'T EMPIRE EARTH OR WORLD OF WARCRAFT. THIS IS REAL LIFE. I dont mind reading some critics here and there but this is too much and i never expected it to be in a forum. There i rest my statement here. For those who agree of what i said
I agree that everything has its pros and cons. However, you have made some mistakes in your observations.
Hating the govt does not equal hating Singapore. Each one of us needs to learn how to differentiate between the 2 and not lump them together. I for one love Singapore, and am proud to be a Singaporean, but I just don't want to work in Singapore because of the policies by the govt, which have me believe that in 20-30 years time, we will face social consequences from the relentless influx of foreigners
The other point I wish to make is, our govt pays itself a 6-star hotel pay, whereas all other leaders in other countries pay themselves probably a 2-star pay relative to our govt. If you live in a 6-star hotel and you pay $10,000 a night for a room, would you demand everything to be perfect?

I say, CC got free TV, u go and watch lah. Couples use to have miscommunication, common ya
I dont get it with all these "i hate singapore" crap
throws a stone at cc tv....a nd sees it burst into flames!!!if i cant have it....burn it!sets a foreign werker on fire as i flee the crime area!
i think there's a difference between "i hate sg" and "I hate PAP". Why would anyone hate the country which contain all their most beautiful memories of life? lol. We just hate the way the country is run and the way the leaders think they can manufacture our thinking.
Just take a look at the Straits Times. Fucking political and economic window dressing bullshit every single fucking day. And why do we have an ex ISD agent as one of the chief columnists, who knew shit about journalism before that and is placed in that position because she can spin the govt's tune in Queen's english?
This is how you want your country to be run? I've already had enough of this manipulation and now is a PR elsewhere. But I await the day where PAP becomes the opposition....till the day that I die.

I think you confused PAP with Singapore. It's the PAP that people hate.
I think you confused, PAP is choosen by the people, how can people hate PAP?
The government is chosen by the people, for the people. By right, if they are doing a good job, the people will continue to vote them in. If they are not doing a good job, the people will vote them out.
Haters are everywhere. Even the best government in the world will have its haters. The sensible thing to do is to judge for yourself whether the government has done a good job, and translate that into your vote in the next election.
Sure, it's not easy to govern an entire nation, to invent policies that please everyone, to grow the nation and push it forward. But that does not mean the government has the right to do whatever it wants. Whether Singaporeans think the current government has done well or not, we'll only know after the votes are counted in the next election.
