Does Smicko really think SG can survive without these 'whiners'? If all the 'whiners' were to leave SG would be devastated because that would be several thousands more. And you can count on your valued immigrants to leave the minute SG has any trouble. So stop pretending SG doesnt need the 'whiners'. All that needs to be done is to get the damned government to stop making people's lives miserable

My grandfathers had moved down from China to look for better opportunities in the past. He landed up in Malaysia and later Singapore. When it come to my generations, why cant I do the same? Singapore have to provide the environment to satisfy her citizens else we will see the migratory birds moving back to its origin or further down.

trust me, there is no better place in the world than sg. After living for yrs in PRC, I wish to come home. Unfortuately, this country is becoming so expensive that I could not even find a decent shelter to return.

Kindly not sell your view of SG being the best place to live in, as a fact.I, for one, observe I am enjoying life to the fullest in my life in the USA. This is supported by examples from housing to cars to daily living
- A house bought here at the price of a HDB flat is a landed property with a huge backyard and multiple levels of living space
- Certain sports cars bought here is equivalent to only the price of a COE (or less)
- There are so many places to explore. Niagara Falls, Miami, Grand Canyon, etc to name a few. All can be done without even leaving the country.
- Groceries are cheap. Haagen Daz at $3 per tub, half a roasted duck at $10, Pork Ribs at $8.90 per kg, portions are huge at restaurants and cafes, just to name a few examples.
Not to mention, I am earning US payscale, which helps me to save more for my retirement.
So I honestly don't know what you mean by SG being the best place to live in, coz I feel so carefree and destressed here due to the endless things I can do in the USA, and the things I can buy at a fraction of the price of things in SG. I will hesitate to confuse our locals in SG if I were you.
The only thing I miss is the kopitiam culture, where I would sit sweating under the night sky drinking kopi and chatting with my parents. That's about it.
