I am seeing more and more self praise by the govt in the media lately.
"Job credits have saved a lot of companies" even though we know how companies exploit it.
Vivian says that SG is the only place on the planet where you find food and shelter.
Khaw sang praises of his medishield revamp.
Lim Swee Say says productivity has risen.
MBT says HDB has provided all Singaporeans with affordable homes.
WKS says thanks to the SPF's tipoff, Msia caught Mas Selamat.
Can't be helped, election is coming, all despots desperately into self praising.
don't see politicians in other countries over praising themselves like the fascists in this country. Most are empty vessles making the most noise.
It's part of political culture everywhere. Other places have media to attack the praise, but since here media is controlled by the ruling powers, everything is praise.
well, in psychology, self praising is good for self motivation, so let them be

Well, it's common worldwide the ruling party will praise themselves on a job "well-done" but the only difference between ours and theirs is that they have opposition parties who will tell them otherwise.
Well if the British are still in control of Singapore today for another 50 years, don't be surprised they will still be praising themselves about their grip on Singapore now.
It's because they let go of Singapore, Malaysia and India since World War 2, that's why they know their mistakes already!
Not to mention LKY said that his government is based on "talent" to choose who should be minister, not relation.
While in fact, the government body is filled with his "untalented relatives"...
makes me cringe whenever i see self praise. esp in recent times, this vehement insistence by shortie that HDB is affordable. knnccb, he blind or what?
First and foremost Singapore has no political Cultured.
In part the Govt desperate measured to take stock what they can claimed success to the voters.....
So lets get into perspective......election is coming.
They screwed Singaporean now they are trying to win hearts and mind.....
The political campaign of Good image started.
What you want them to say?
Admit to all the big mistakes they made?
they wont de la everything they do is correct ... and rightful for th national -.-
Not really asking them to admit the big mistakes, but at least make said something like, it is an honest mistake will do.
I doubt they will cough out their mistake :S
the most they get is a tight slap from LHL

LHL refers to Lee Hsien Loong, eldest son of Lee Kuan Yew. His wife is Ho Ching, CEO of Temasek Holdings.
In the current Nuclear Summit 2010 that was suddenly arranged by the US Obama Administration - in which over 45 countries were invited to Washington D.C. - which aslo included some ASEAN members that reportedly had the PMs of Malaysia and Singapore also being present.
Surprisingly, the US President Obama met personally with only two Asian leaders - President Hu from China and Malaysia's PM Najib.
While Malaysia's main papers highlighted the ‘meeting between President Obama and PM Najib’ - our Channelnews Asia had to play down the visit by reporting ‘LHL and the 'husband' at several meetings with different Senate and Congressional Leaders’ .
The only news item that appeared on 13 April 2010 concerning the Nuclear Summit 2010 - was a commentary of ‘local experts expressing it is “timely for Singapore to share views on nuclear non-proliferation”’.
There is no mileage to be extracted by the PM of a little autocrat state making an appearance on the international stage with a US Leader who was doubted by MM LKY to have any hope of success at the last US President race.
It will be interesting to watch how the local state-controlled media will extract anything out of this dry visit by PM LHL to the US Nuclear Summit in Washington D.C.
If you notice pack dogs, they will constantly lick each other and particularly the alpha male in the arse.
God only knows why they encourage such disgusting behaviour.
