i guess no like likes to be an alien in their own home, to makes matters worst, being pressured too in all levels would result in a more worst case sceneario which definately going to ensure a backlash soon.

fated i have laksa in australia too....made in singapore and taste very much like what i had at katong.
but singaporean guys are not allowed to leave singapore unless they have approval from singapore army.only 2 ways for army approval....work overseas or studies overseas.if u fail to get evidence and submit to them on time.the army will send spore guys straight into army prison!and there are other army paperwerk to do besides getting army permission....all must be done in sequence or big trouble.....
thats why spore guys cant go out.

If you really want to leave Singapore, just get out and dun come back, no need to inform army or govt..but please inform your ah ma and ah pa before moving out, that is for filial piety

huh? you sounds funny. The SAF just wants to keep their manpower in check, so that during mobs they know how much resources they have. You need to inform them.

u sound very funny too.if u care to read the SAF laws....u will notice what i mean!u arent singaporean from the looks of it!!which army in the world only care about records!!!??? they want each and every soldier to remain in singapore as long as possible!!!!that way they can mobilise immediately in case of invasion!they surely cant mobilise soldiers if they go overseas for 3 years!!!hahhaha.....thinks u need to goto national service to understand whta they really need!fools only think superficially!!!
what we are here is to discuss many many years out of singapore,,,not a few months holiday in malaysia.

I think one of the female forumer got a funny reasoning when talking about exodus of locals to other countries, the gotvt acknowledge the fact more n more locals migrated to other countries. The figure of 180000 is not many but how come the govt wanted them back despite the fact, more n more PR reported in the paper changed to local citizenship. Somehow, many of them realized that staying abroad is a far more attractive thing.

It is alway good to welcome back our own breed, but as a free and democractic society, govt can ask you to come back, but it is all up to individual, migration is part and parcel of mankind since dawn. As long as people can find glory and better life, we wish them all the best.
