I plan retirement without CPF into account. It's useless.
Thinking of taking PR in another country just in case, and putting money into that country's bank as well. Diversification works

Singaporeans stressful meh??? self inflicting stress or enviromental stress?? I guess the former is more truth, Singaporeans are money minded, got money, they are happy, no money, they say they are very stressful. Logic??

I hv plans too, every body have plans, those with no plans are people who planned to fail.
As much as you can. Not more than what you can.
Check it out when you are 54 years and 11 months old. No point knowing earlier.

You mean CPF charges you a fee for returning your own CPF money to you?
I did not know that.

Does it piss you off that you will have so much money stuck in the CPF (in the future) but it gets withheld until you are 80 or 90 years old?
Originally posted by charlize:You mean CPF charges you a fee for returning your own CPF money to you?
I did not know that.
u seems to forget the slogan well said in Singapore..Nothing is Free hor

hello, when govt said, today people can live to 80 and 90 beyong, they are referring to elite peoples who dun need CPF ya, not an average joe on the street hor. Most can't even smell the money

Singapore in the first place is not meant to retire plus the citizen cannot totally withdraw hard earned money from CPF. This is one of the reason PR refused to give up their citizenship of country origin. Imagine in the near future, old people those sick cannot withdraw their CPF n got to continue working, is this not a sad case?
if you are old and still working, it mean that during your able and young time, you must be either very lazy or working hard for nothing, meaning you earn alots but also spend alots or lost alots. Typically you fall into the trap of the govt web.
IR casino is another extended web ya

It is really funny when this country got so many old people still employed as hard labour, some of them kenal labelled as lazy. No wonder many of the PR refused to changed their to local citizenship.
well, dynasty can rise and fall. It is part of a cycle
last saturday i was speaking to a client (for those who know me will know i work in the financial industry). this client was from china and she is a PR here.
she told me, '' no way im going to apply for citizenship, u singaporeans have so many rules! being a pr is better!"
i hear already i ......
So how much does CPF charge when retirees take back their own money?

when he truly retired, then we talk about it
meantime, remember the 4% CPF interest rate, the highest among banks
Most likely with the expensive HDB flats, most of your CPF money would be used to finance the 99 lease for the next 20 - 30 years.
So likely not much CPF money left in the account for ordinary Singaporeans.

No more the old 50% withdrawal rule where sgporeans can still see a substantial amount of their CPF.
Old withdrawal rule? What rule?In Singapore, there are only Lee Kuan Yew's rules n Lee Hsien Loong's rules, that is something "unchanged".
Other than that, all other "rules" in this country can anyhow n anytime "alter or change" to meet the Lees family needs.
