You say we weathered the strom pretty well, hey...do u know we are at the mercy of the world's economic performance due to the structure of our economy? We are still using outdated strategic initiatives thats has otherwise served us well in the 60s and 70s.
Angel7030, you should learn from Rockstar. This is the proper way to articulate your opinion.
Rockstar, I do not understand your country. That's right, I don't. The only thing I do know is that employment opportunities are quite good here for the average university graduate. But then there are people like Angel7030 who, when seeing a foreigner, will not hesitate to vent. I just don't get it. It's as if I killed her father and burnt her house down.

It is not a surprise that the Taiwan 'hum' will continue to agitate by flapping its ‘Labia Majora’ and ‘Labia Minora’ to taunt in total idiocy - ‘hahaha..now u know who i am hor...the special one.’ (*1)
The agenda of a Taiwanese 'hum' in this SgForum was clearly stated by itself - ‘to make sure the audience moving/divert toward you’ (*2)
Is it any surprise to see that the efforts of the resident CBM here is obviously to sabotage the thread with its flippant and irrelevant replies, and get all attempts at serious discussion to be driven off track - simply to bring attention to its own stupidity ?
With its brain stuck between its ‘Labia Majora’ and ‘Labia Minora’ - and a brain no bigger then the size of its ‘clitoris’ - all it can do is to flap in rapturous idiocy to attract attention to itself as an 'Attention Seeking Whore' fitted with a world class CBM.

Or is this a sly allusion to elevating your status to being equal with LKY - hence qualifying for my scorn in not registering your reiterated stand ?
This remark shows your comprehension ability. Also your memory must be failing as you can't remember what you asked me in the previous posts about my stand.
If statements can be absurd - can they be true ?
If not true, should absurd statements not be false then ?
Regretably, in countries that are consistently manipulated by autocrats - even false statements can be made to be reasonable, or to be even palatably acceptable to those who are ignorant to the facts - or continuously fed with "half-truth".
Can your statement offered for public consumption not be false ?
Your premise goes not true = false is too simplistic and is formulated for your audience here.
True and false are comparision against existing records. A match would be a true return, and a mismatch would be a false return.
You only have to find my statement agreeable of disagreeable.
What possibly can give you the idea that the details of the heavy dependence on foreign labor by Middle-eastern countries - is privy to yours truly alone ?
Was the knowledge of the fact - that Middle-eastern countries can be held ransom to the massive foreign labor - the motivation for the PAP to make the statement that is now the title of this thread ?
If your position is true - it is remarkable that the PAP has now fallen backward to a "policy of appeasement" - to make foreigners secure so as to serve Singapore in ever larger numbers despite the fact that they can hold Singapore's Economy to ransom by sudden withdrawal of their services in one form or another.
Can this make Singapore more resillient and achieve the ideals of Total Defence - or was that another PAP propaganda that has served its time and no longer relevant and inconvenient to the new real circumstances ?
This again shows up you comprehension ability. Did I say knowledge is privy to me only?
And also your If your position is true........ gobble de gook. How did you arrive at the notion that the PAP has fallen backward ot a policy of appeasement. Was there a previous policy? Perhaps you know and have it in your vast archive.
This passage looks good, but it is an IF conjured by you to confuse the issue.
The fact that horror stories exist can only be attributed to the haphazard and poorly thought out policies being implemented without the safeguards being put in place before implementation.
Has this not been the characteristic manner in which the PAP Government work even with policies and legislations made towards governing Singaporeans ?
The worker that was injured and thrown into a drain, and other such dispicable acts, was the work of unscrupulous employers, not the government. There are already procedures in place, for these workers to work only in their designated workplace, so that they would not be exploited to work or multiple employers.
If you are as knowledgeable as you claim to be with the foregin labor situation in the Middle-eastern countries - can it be assumed that you can be aware that the citizens of those Middle-eastern countries named are well looked after by the respective governments - in ways unheard and unseen in Singapore ?
The foreign workers - that migrate to those Middle-eastern countries - are there for short-termed contract, and do not compete with the locals for jobs, nor do their presence result in the wages being suppressed for the local citizens, nor do they compete for the resources and infrastructures built to benefit the local citizens.
Did you miss out also the national policies that change with each change of the government from which these foreign labor come from ?
I did not claim to be knowledgeable about ME countries. Again this is characteristic of you to "Put words into my mouth".
But nevertheless, I find this passage informative. Yes I missed out change of government as one of the possible reason for an exodus.
Does the Singapore Government know about the many dangers posed ?
Hardly, considering the typical rush to implement a poorly thought out policy, and then tinker with it as "works in progress" - which explains for the flip-flop policy changes over the last decade, and the many belated admissions even by MM LKY to past policies viewed with hind-sight.
One danger that did not dawn on the Singapore Government is that with so much emphasis on the foreign workers - it was not obvious that it is the Singaporeans bearing the brunt of all the negative effects of a misguided policy.
Singaporeans are now seeing the belated actions being taken to remedy the situation - and done so only with the view of the up-coming General Election.
This is you expressing your view, I will have no quarrel that.
It is not a surprise that you will emphasise "to take all the opportunity of the present circumstances to move ahead and to progress as much as possible" - when you have not been able to see the pitfall suffered by Singaporeans, which the present PAP Government recognised belatedly only because of the upcoming Elections.
It is also obvious that your position is a by-product of the PAP's characteristic ways of rushing out the policies no matter the cost, fixing it as 'works in progress', dropping it quietly when the policy is a failure without any further accountability to the social, economic and financial costs incurred.
You are a product of all the excesses that was made possible from the successes accumulated by the early generations that toiled, and have no idea as to how to conserve and focus on what we can do best.
I am a by product of the PAP rule, ironically you and all of us are by products of PAP rule. What we have today is the result of PAP rule. We may have been better off, or worse off, if Singapore's political history has been different. We will never know for sure. Just being a critic of all the PAP's policiey does not mean one is not a by product of PAP's rule.
Is there any surprises left in the callous attitude to the loss of $100 Billion - without any further squeak by all concerned, and the continued pseudo-bravado with the more excesses in new foreign investments ?
It is not smart to work on a high speed train while at the same time laying tracks ahead as you plan its next course.
Can the high speed train work any faster, when you are uncertain what lies ahead, even as you have no clue as what the plan should be as to where you intend to lead the tracks to ?
Not knowing what the meaning of the word "fear" - does not necessarily mean that one is brave, it merely show that one is either ignorant of the language used, or plain dumb.
The billions lost, yes, and this would bring this exchange to no end. It would be a digression.
Rest are good philosophical material.

You will be surprised that the resident Taiwanese 'hum' has the capacity to turn on and off the intelliigence when needed.
It has turn it on selectively so as to conserve what little intelligence is left inside itself - when the bulk of it is used to wastefully to flap its desire to draw attention to itself persistently 24-hours every day.
The persistence of the Taiwanese 'hum' to post its irrelevant and irreverent idiocy is to drive the thread off-track.
Its declared agenda is to draw the attention of any participant to engage with its idiocy - so as to pile up the pages in the thread with nonsensical exchange with itself and the thread being ignored.
This is an OPEN statement to all participant in this Forum - to resist and stop engaging with the idiocy of the 'angel7030' and not to indulge this 'hum' from Taiwan in useless exchanges that stretch into multiple pages to drive the thread off-track.

The ending of this discourse was expected to be in the same well learnt style of the PAP - in not engaging the areas that exposes its soft under belly, and to drop off any further discussions by deriding the value in which ever way possible.
The style was quite obvious from the first exchange to the obvious digression that was attempted by putting the blame on others, and then moving on to something totally irrelevant - despite the effort to remind of the controversy that began with a fallacious statement for a second time, the avoidance continue.
From what is seen, "digression" is conveniently used as an excuse not to engage.
If singapore don't welcome foreigners.....Perharps only folks in the Headhunter business would know....let me put it this way .....
I know of someone in headhunter company enter job seekers into database and sometime in a single day this person 8 hours job simply entered database of foreign citizens.
These are degree professional candidates from MY, Vietnames, HKG, with 2nd passport from the UK, and from US. not to mention PRC and Indians nationale. It comes all the way from middle east. They all want to work in Singapore....
while i understand job market is tight....so what happen to the Sing folks ?
So who said singapore is not accomodating enough.....we now import our job to foreigners.
New citizens will soon find out first hand that the initial years look very rosy and that they have everything going for them.
Then the next batch of new citizens come to displace them.
And then their eyes will be opened.

Ironically what you say of me is exactly what feel of your style, except for the avoidance part. You seemed to enjoy running rings around those who engage you. You have a large archive of records, and you use that to good use against your opponents. I, if you have notice just give my opinion off the cuff.
Its tiring, and getting repetitious.
Thank you.

Thanks but no thanks for your reply - which does not throw further light to your preferred opinion when you declined to substantiate with any further 'clues' as to how you managed to cultivate your opinion to such an insightful conclusion.
Concerning the 'large archive' - there was none worth keeping from this thread, as nothing conclusive came about from our exchange.
I do not consider you an opponent as there was no engagement of any kind to begin with, and neither were you opposing any part of my response except to avoid having any sensible exchange.
Was it any fault of anyone for you to feel tired so easily when only two attempts were made to have you respond to your preferred opinion ?
If matters seem to be repititious, it can only be attributed to your inability to find the clues that can lead you to where you intend to go after making your initial point - which was specially highlighted for a focused exchange.
Unfortunately, you prefer to circumvent my attempts with ingenious excuses.

Many of the this foreign professional come from the neighbouring countries. When they arrived at this country, they quite amazed at the peace of this country. Some of them started to find jobs n later go on to become citizen. Unfortunately they failed to realize this country is not meant for retirement. The report last night mentioned that there is a plan in Jb to build a retirement village for the old citizen of this country.

Well one thing I am very clear about is this. I am a foreigner and I can probably say this on behalf of other foreigners. We do not intend to retire here nor do we intend to become official citizens. There must be a truly compelling reason for me to surrender my HK and Canada passports so as to become a Singaporean citizen. I think if Singapore were to have lax laws like in HK, the foreigners from certain countries (except HK lah) would get a bashing long time ago.

You have alot to learn.....about being a citizen of a country.
alot of folks here complaint about the pap but their hearts are still for Singapore. So do not mistaken the loyalty and passion to the country.
The least you could do is to acknowledge that LKY had once work towards Singapore independents.

Aturdie, Hitman+, Fuck PAP and LKY are examples of what citizens of a country should not be.
They are people out to harm the prestige of their own country, instead of changing their country for the better.
People who are true patriots to their own country are truly to be admired.
