just make sure they are spherical shaped and connected to other spheres.
1)build them in factories with each sphere being 30 metres in diameter and able to withstand designated pressure
2)send them to bottom of sea undamaged
3)pump air and evacuate water
4)put in power, submarine docks and oxygen generating plants
its that simple
Connecting to other spheres - vertically or laterally ?
If constructed laterally, it will occupy quite a huge area and will need to be stacked up vertically into multi-storeys to allow for a larger community of human habitation.
Unfortunately, with land reclamation pushing our shore-lines outwards - it has reduced the 3 mile or 5 km limit from the "old" shoreline to the fixed territorial border with Indonesia and Malaysia.
This is especially relevant towards our southern most island that marks the beginning of the 3 mile or 5 km limit - and where there are no overlapping claim such as that found in the northern narrow waterways with Johor that require the internationally accepted demarcation method to be modified.
With busy shipping in the wide expanse of water in the southern side of Singapore, it is almost impossible to consider an exclusive area for such construction to allow for human habitation undersea.
Any area designated for such human habitation will require ships of heavy tonnage to avoid traversing any where near to such nodes of communal living, and which will affect our port activities.
This will require PSA to move its operations along the entire southern coastline - from Prince Edward-Anson Road area through the entire length of Tanjong Pagar to Pasir Panjang - relocating to the Jurong area.
This will release alot of square kilometers of high value land for Singaporeans.
The various shipyards in the Jurong area that face south can move to the new reclaimed land at Tuas, and allow PSA to move in and connect with its Jurong Port operation to form a continuous dock front.
if nuclear plant undersea leak and exploded, how??? no more ikan bilis liao...and do you think the Indo and the Malaysia are going to sit there and watch you build a destroyer out of no protest??? I think Najib will knock LHL head first..
The agenda of a Taiwanese 'hum' in this SgForum was clearly stated by itself - ‘to make sure the audience moving/divert toward you’ (*1)
Is it any surprise to see that the efforts of the resident CBM here is obviously to sabotage the thread with its flippant and irrelevant replies, and get all attempts at serious discussion to be driven off track - simply to bring attention to its own stupidity ?
With its brain stuck between its ‘Labia Majora’ and ‘Labia Minora’ - and a brain no bigger then the size of its ‘clitoris’ - all it can do is to flap in rapturous idiocy to attract attention to itself as an 'Attention Seeking Whore' fitted with a world class CBM.
atobe,
placing the spheres under the seabed side by side would be best.....the surface sea area would then need to be monitored and barricaded to avoid accidents that might destroy undersea spheres as shipping lanes isnt exactly like the Marianna trench etc.so it would be safer to place some kinda offshore platform like those oil drill rigs in the middle of the sea to prevent the spheres from colliding with the keel of the passing ships. the ships would have to manuvere across it if the keel would damage undersea "city'.
platforms above the sea might also be beneficial to undersea spheres if they had a helicopter landing pad along with Navy or coast guard ships in case of emergencies.
instead of having nuclear plants under the sea u could instead harness wave energies from the undersea currents and convert them into electrical energy and wire it up to surface.in this case the power source would be from the sea itself.
U sound like the author of the book entitlted Sphere I read when i was in primary 4, can't remember the author name, like Terminator Crickton
The agenda of the Taiwanese 'hum' is obvious to disrupt the SgForum with its low level frivolous idiocy.
It is also very obvious that the moderators have given Taiwanese 'hum' a "carte blanche" to disrupt as it pleases with its idiocy and without any intervention.

I would prefer placing the turbines to harness wave energies from undersea currents.
Especially when so many ships are travesing the area, there are energies that are lost to generating waves in the sea. Scavenging these energies into electricity would be great and environmentally friendly!
hahahaha...what a stupid hydro electric eagle, me dunno engineering also know that those splatters small waves can even topple a boat..talk about wave engines..hahahaha...

What wave engine.....
It's precisely because those small waves can topple a boat that we can build turbines to harness the energies in these waves.... duh...
In fact, such an underwater turbine is already present in the world; it's not a new idea at all.
being a good port here is because our water and current are so stable, deep and coral free. You need to use at least a big waterfall, either thru nature or man make to produce enuf energy for the turbines to work. A few waves that can topple only small boats is not going to do much, a total waste of resouces, cost and planing.
If can, long long govt do already..by the time wait for you..the eagle might had landed liao

"you go and build better"
cos, you "seem" to know a lot

Thanks for your comment, but I'm not going to feed your ignorance further on proven technologies.

i already build, my house here in joo chiat and changi got windmill ok, i put it on top for wind to blow, it generate some electricity for our front porch and garden lights, if not power bills is so high now, then we also place water drum on top to collect rain water, filter it and use for washing, bathing and swimming. Save alot ok, but for hydro plane and those stupid stuff, it dun work in Singapore.

ANGEL7030,
maybe your windmill is too small....and theres not really much wind in singapore.but for power from sea....if u have watched discovery channel small waves are able to generate electricity....and since waves happen most of the time...its still worth a try as compared to nuclear power.
maybe angel needs to have an elephant running on a conveyor belt treadmill thats hooked up to generators to produce enough power to power yer home.i think yer batteries would be fully charged after elephant runs for one hour on the threadmill.

With a brain no bigger then the size of its ‘clitoris’ - do you serioulsy believe that the Taiwan 'hum' can appreicate what you are referring to for a "wave machine" ?
The closest that resemble a "wave machine" that the Taiwan 'hum' is familiar with, is the resemblance of its ‘Labia Majora’ and ‘Labia Minora’ that flaps in rapturous rhythmic idiocy with the undersea current that pressure it to respond uselessly in wasted energy throughout its living moments.
It is so typical of an 'Attention Seeking Whore' to be on the surface as a windmill to draw the much desired attention to itself - when it cannot do the same as a useless 'hum' on the sea bed.
Stooopidity knows no limit when the Taiwan 'hum' appears in this SgForum.

Not forgetting to mention that this idiot once said that properties in the East of SG cost more than in the West. And then she mentioned Joo Chiat as prime property :D
Absolutely know nothing, and yet mouth just keep opening and sprouting nonsense :D

wow.... so 'intelligent'
generate electricity for front porch, garden lights = save a lot of electricity *lol* What lights you use? Stadium flood lights? :D
It seems you also are ignorant of the fact that the 3 major appliances that use huge amounts of electricity in ANY home is the washing machine, refridgerator, and air conditioner.

THis fellow is one who will go under table.
Possibly some bribery do the trick.
angel 7030 i ask you to go and build one in the sea
i never mention build one in your house
pls don't any how write and posts

My dear,
using wind propulsion, how much do you think i can generate electricity, My dad wanted to import solar cells, but the govt do not approve, imagine your own house, you cannot put solar cells, you can put satellite TV dishes,..omg, govt is so strict, even on landed property.
There is one dutch professor, a friend of my Dad once visited us, he was surprise to find we using old fans to make propulsion and create electricity, he said that we can easily order those big wind propeller fans that can generate more electricity for the whole street, but he also observed that the winds here is not that strong, so he suggested solar cells, as singapore is a tropical area with good sunshine, high rise buildings, why not place solar cells. My dad told him, if can put solar cells, how is the govt going to collect bills?

Talking about treadmills, i see alots of hunks and chio bu running treadmills all day long at California and other gyms, why not use those running energy and convert to electricity, what a waste. By the way, i run too, but not on treadmill, i hate treadmill, running on it makes me headache, i like to run on parks, good air and sight.
