It is a waste of public funds to spend so much on defence when we are not in a violatile region. No country in our region has been known to attack or bomb its neighbour. Public funds would be better utilise in social welfare, health, education, public housing,etc for all the people of Sg. Anyway if there is a war, it will be over within days as Sg is a thiny island. Can you imagine the HDB flats will fall like playing cards should one missile drop in Sg. Lets pray for peace in this region and the whole world

I would love to get my my degree but singapore governments economic policy has destroyed my chance of ever living like a normal person again!!by the time i recover,i would be a very old man!i know industrial computer programming and robotics using AB and omron software packages.

Singapore is stuck in massive techno-economical jam as it doesn't got guts to implement new tech and the people expects spoon-feeding in learning new tech. So everyone can understand that it is both the fault of the government and the people of Singapore not advancing.

singapore isnt stuck in techno jams it never was stuck...........its complacent as like most of the people in spore.unfortunately u would be lucky in spore who even knows how to even program stuff in any code even.as all humans are.....i know machinery programmin both maschine code and in software.
its the kind of people each country was made out of.....unfortunately singaporeans are not americans or are one of thosae who dedicates the entire life and every moment in pursuit of robotics////those who live and breathe of the future and what it brings to mankind.....in so doing of that pursuit one uprooted his past ,parents,present and future to another land with better chance of accomplishing his goal.

7)what are the gains 10 years from now......is that goal happening in 1 year?how much is the goal achieb=vable in 3 years and would that goal reach by end of year 2020?

The government involvement get even deeper when it participate in direct competition in the market place of entrepreneurs, by using public money to set up Government-Linked Companies to compete with private entrepreneurs.
Can the government be successful entrepreneurs ?
Are Singaporeans unwilling to learn new tech ?
Or has it not been a fact that the PAP Government treat Singaporeans as human resource - to be manipulated and directed into directions that will meet with the vision and goals set up by the Government ?
How often has it been said by applicants to the various tertiary institutions that the course that they applied for had insufficient seats available, but there was an unusual large number in another faculty to produce "the manpower needed by industry" ?
If Singaporeans need spoon-feeding - does the commentator count itself to be a Singaporean - and similarly need to be spoon fed to see the situation that is so clearly obvious ?

Got leh. Thailand and Cambodia sparking conflicts with soldiers dying or injuried is one of the recent examples. In 1960s also got Confrontasi and our dear Mcdonald house kena bomb. For that, I believe that are fatalities, so how leh........... The only way to pray for peace is........ WAR!!! Let somebody go and conquor the whole world, then all countries are unified under a "Global Village / Global City" whatever, and turn all become atheist and communist will do.....

One of my Coffee shop uncle said, last time, SAF soldiers, being Israel trained, are more tough and strong, most are very rough, he feels that today one are very soft, chicken heart and maid's boys. With some overly educated turn ah gua attitude, he said that if there is another confrontasi, most, include their commanders will run back home to hide behind their maids.He also said that we got a contingent of Gukhas soldiers here just to protect LKY and his family, together with his nephews and close aide to get out of singapore if confrontasi arrive, they dun even trust our own SAF...all weak legs, macDonald's kids, how to fight?? Hmm..better ask MV Kaoshan to standby here for taiwanese native like me here first.

.......hmmm.....yes....come to think of it now,,,,,,,world has very few real soldiers.even in israel the soldiers all wear spectacles....look nerdy...bugs bunny teeth......also look like ah gua too...only no maid.some israel soldiers also run around wiv long hair.
and us army paratrooper i worked with kept his plants and flowers and was worried they might die while he is in spore.

Coffeeshop uncle also told me last time, he was hanged on the lamp post for a day by Israel commander and treated like prisoner of War, if today SAF hang those gayboys on the lamp post, i think tomollo, all maids, mothers and grandmothers will be throwing blood on Dr Ng house.
All hands shaky, legs wobblings, helmet bigger than their head, how to fight??? enemy shoot one time only, i think all Pee on the pant liao..I really have no trust in our SAF, it is nothing by just a propanganda to shows that we got an army. See those young men going to lunch near my place taking umbrella like gal to shield the sun...i give up

He makes noise because after protecting Singapore for nearly 20 years of his life (inclusive of reservist), he ends up sitting here with no job offer, he ask for security, all taken up, he is in his late 50s, everytime called the agent or companies, when talk about his age only, all hang up already...one of these day he is going to hang on the lamppost outside istana and with a poster, I protected my Country, but my Country forget me.

If the candidate is successfull in passing the selection, he will be asked to sign a five years unconditional contract to serve wherever the French Foreign Legion needs him.
The unsuccessfull candidate is immediately returned to civilian life to rejoin his country of origin without any financial aid.

For four months the young legionnaire will receive a basic military instruction at the 4th Foreign Regiment located in Castelnaudary after which, he will be posted to a regiment, depending on his capabilities and the needs of the French Foreign Legion.
Promotion through the ranks will depend upon his physical capacities as well as his IQ, service record and leadership abilities.1. LUC LEGER - A rhythmic race, alternating 20 meters in 1 minute and 20 meters in 2 minutes (Make at least 7 landings).
2. PULLUPS - make at least 4 pullups
3. ROPE - Climb 5meter rope at least once.
4. ABDOMINAL MUSCLES - do at least 40 situps

Confrontation in 60's was a bygone case. One bomb exploded was just a scare tactic. There was no other incidents during Confrontation by Indonesia in Sg. Don't make a summer with one swallow.
