Already now happening. Just like eagle posted the article on the guy with no 'O' level but earning 4 to 6 K per mth working as crane operator.
Well, only if you have a really specialized vocational skill that is limited in supply. These people might actually make more money than uni grads.
I still foresee that the country will be flooded with cheap foreign workers because of costs.
I doubt we will get to see reasonably well paid garbage collectors, construction workers like in Australia or US because of weak unions and culture of using cheap foreign workers.
You know how the government works here.

Life will definitely get worse for ordinary folks like us.
But probably better for the ivory tower elites.

This is a period of changes in the labour market of singapore, it will takes about 5 to 10 years to resolve itself, by then, thing will be more clear. Next 2 year, govt is going to introduce better reemployment perks and amend some employment act to ensure that company engage the local more thru a comprehensive productivity package.
The STF and ESC which i attended as a CEO behind close door, me the youngest there, focused on mainly 3 issues, productivity (CBF), foreign levy increases and employers initiatives in leading productivity with sponsorship by govt fund.

Maybe.
They are already asking Singaporeans to accept the idea of retiring in JB and using Medisave in Malaysia's hospitals.
This day could come sooner than later.
