Do you have the thing that people is willing to pay that for your service? In another words, are you useful enough?
If you dont pick the skill, you dont command the pay. The game is so simple. Skill can be like cooking chicken rice to medical surgery.
Sign on ARMY lah I am sure you can get $4 to 5 k even you are N level by 35 years old.
if you are normal people, some1 I can get on the street, of course you know don't deserved the pay. Imagine the low skill worker command $4-5k, the whole hierarchy pay would increase.
So go to upgrade your skills, being a sitting duck, waiting for things to happen would not work, they are many course at WDA.

That's thinking in a micro sense (not macro).
In a company with a production order of say 1,000 units and a work force of 100 workers. A hardworking worker producing 30 units would have either deprive another 2 workers out of a job or reduced the income of all the workers.
So ultimately, it's still up to the company to come up with a plan to increase sales and production to improve the overall income of all the workers in the company.

skill upgrading is a con job as usual.guy who went for those course ended up as a cab driver...told me he worked for singapore technologies and got about 10 certs.so with all those upgrading etc...he ended up as a cab driver!

he now earns $25/hr or au$6k/mth in oz servicing rusted metal.
