Despite population increase 16 % from 2002 to 2008,
sale of potable water is alomost the same!!
This is just a miracle!!UN shall send people to learn from SG!!
From 2002 to 2008, sale of potable water drop 14 % per capita!!
This off set the increase in population!!
NEWater and industial water replace potable water!!
Water saving compagin and water saving gear work.
No need worry abt increasing population.
Sale of potable water per day per capita, drop from 301 liter
(1 m3 = 1,000 liters) in 2002 to 260 liter in 2008!!
We have to worry abt source of potable water only.
There are 3 types of water selling in SG--
1.potable water supply to households, shops, offices, factory(for human
consumption)etc. sources of raw water come fr local and JB catchment
and sea(Tuas desalination plant!!)
2. Industrial water---low graded reclaimed water for industrial uses,
cooling, washing etc. Material is sewage--plenty!!
3. NEWater --ultra clean reclaimed water for wafer manufacturng, air cond
cooling .1 to 2 % in potable water come from NEWater.
Material is sewage--plenty!!

Water Resource Management---sale of potable water drop per capita |

Finally, the Taiwanese 'hum' reveal its agenda in this Speaker's Corner to create controversies and attempt to win in every controversy.
Does anyone need controversies that are deliberately created to win an argument ?
It is typical of fools like you and a noisy pussy that will step up with full bravado to make all kinds of deliberate controversial statements to jibe and dig the spurs into Singaporeans in this Speaker's Corner.
Stay out of Singapore politics and you will not be insulted repeatedly.
Can Singaporeans depend on foreigners like you with the intelligence of a Taiwanese 'hum' begin and end at its ‘Labia Majora’ and ‘Labia Minora’ ?
All you are capable of is to indulge in rapturous idiocy - can anything of any substance flow from your hopeless brain that is no bigger then the size of your ‘clitoris’ ?
Originally posted by lionnoisy:Too many SG people just ignorane of SG water achievement
I am here not to show off to the northern neighbour.
Too many sg pple just think sg is still VERY rely on MY water.
currently,Less than 40% of potable water come from MY.
In fact, the more souce SG has in water, the more restraint actions by SG
if there is any water supply disruption from the north.
Less dependent on import water is certanly a good thing in bilateral tie.
Wat do u want to say?
I still cant make out the purpose of you posting the presentations slides
abt SG water demand magt. This is a clearly achiement in first world country-
lowest domestic water consumption per capita in the world and
one of lowest, if not the lowest, NON REVENUE WATER--NRW,
or as shown in the last page there,Fig. 3.
SG is abt 5 %, much lower than HK, Oz major cites abt 30 %!!
2.water rationing in SG in the future
If this happen caused by very low rainfall,
then this planet is not suitable for human being.
The enlarged catchment is expected to provide abt 70 % of local demand.
The capcaity of SG reservoirs in Johor is huge. Johor
is suffering from drought in the past few months which needs cloud
seeding from last week. The chance of rationing in SG in the future
is very remote.
3.Desalination and NEWater can solve all threats in few years
With low capital and operating expenses, both of the above are back up
plans to solve water shortage.
The Tuas deslination plant, which is now owned by City Spring ,
was built at S$250 million few years .The max output is abt 135,000 m3,
more than 10 % of local potable water sales at 1.26 million
m3 in 2008.(1)
NEWater is now selling at S$1 per m3,cheaper than tap water!!
So,With plenty of land(20 km2 in Tuas and 20 km2 in Changi),(3)
huge capitals fr Temasek/ GIC, technology,
man power and material(sewage and sea water!!),
SG can be 100 self sufficient in few years time,if she choose to do so!
But why should SG do all these politically incorrect things?
We have time under the sun to fine tune the water technology.
4. SG water catchment will be enlarged to 90 % soon
For example,a pilot plant of Variable Salinity Plant (VSP)with a capacity of SG
3 % potable water sale was built in 2007.(2)
Have u heard PUB scarp a project after they build a pilot plant?
U are invited to see the numberous RD projects in PUB.
Remember there are many more in NUS, NTU !!

This is pure dumbnest of a noisy pussy deliberately attempting to blow hot air up its own arse which it simply cannot sit still to keep itself dry.
Do you seriously believe that Singaporeans in this Speaker's Corner are ignorant nerd buried in their desktop screen ?
What is the real purpose of your thread to highlight all the achievements of the PAP Government as election draws near ?
There is a misconcepton that higher GDP ( in absolute term) will consume
more water in pro rate. The truth is SG use 40 % less water to generate
one million of GDP from 2002 to 2008. Even u factor in inflation,
the savings is still a lot.
In 2002, SG consumed 2,914 m3 of potable water to generate
S $ one million GDP at Current Market Prices.
But in 2008, it just consumed 1,731 m3 !!

Water Resource Management---sale of potable water drop per capita
With the global economic strife affecting even PSA operational revenues - and industrial output that affected even our economic performance - is it not obvious that the drop in the sales of potable water will be natural ?
If population had increased by 16% - and in the engineer's design rule of thumb that each individual require at least 30 litres per day - how could that possibly be achieved ?
Even with homes installed with water saving features - that amount need to be consumed and for hygenic use.
16% increase in population numbers are absolute increase in people numbers - which one can already feel the impact of competition.
Can an increase in 16% of the population size not result in increase in the consumption of potable water under normal economic circumstance ?
This surely must be another effort of a noisy pussy to borrow a hot air balloon built by the PAP Government - so as to bring its own arse up to a higher level.

Ha. u admit it is achievements of PAP?
Then , u shall cast your vote wisely lah..
2. Can u do a simple survey among your relatives and friends and colleagues
this week end?
Ask them how many % of SG water come from MY?

Was that an achievement of the PAP - or the achievements put up by Singaporeans who worked behind the scene that planned and gave the ideas to the PAP ?
The "PAP Achievements" was the bait in "a pussy trap" to get the noisy pussy to reveal its true agenda in raising this issue at this time.
Dumb as usual - if only the noisy pussy had learnt something from the fish with a big mouth ..... it will at least have avoided an obvious trap.
Missed this reply - did you measure the amount of water that you drink that came from MY - and left your pussy in your urine and the sweat on your body ?

Old pimp, nobody wants to be related to you, users here no need you to address them as aunties and uncles. No aunties or uncles here are related to any pimp. I pity those relatives of yours for having a pimp like you as their relative. Dirty, immoral.

can any one help to calculate what is the yield of water from new
catchments?
Singapore rainfall map, north east monsoon and south west monsoon
i can only hug hug you....my only friend here...for calculating water yield, i better go calculate my dad's share and dividends yield lor
I really dont know why the fuss abt catchment. American has build unground storage bigger than the size of Singapore to store the oil import from middle east. PRC is building hundreds of underground storage for national reserve of oil, gas, metal etc etc many times the size of Singapore.
If we really so fearful of Malaysian stopping water supply we can dig tunnels underground to their rivers and let it flow into Singapore underground storage or reservior directly.
Also I think we have been misled to believe that we need abve ground reserviors and filtering stations. Dont we have the simple knowledge that the sea water filter down the seabed are fresh drinking waters? Why dont we tap on these underground resources?

my friend,
digging the underground for MRT and under pass had already damaged the structure of our underground to a certain extend, and with MRT ever expanding to make more money, sooner or later, our underground is going to be very fragile, next, if you dig and dig underground drainage and canals for fresh water, I think Singapore will Sink in no time, especially so when most people are getting more obese, fat and heavier, together with heavy tall building, HDB, condo etc etc ,...i dunno how long Singapore can last, we might have a man make earthquake coming soon.
