Why SG has no world class brand?

Tiger Beer is a Singapore brand since before WW2
Its more British than Dutch.
Heineken got nothing to do with Tiger, other than the distributors are the same.
And the latest CEO of Asia Pacific Brewery was formerly from Heineken.

Private sector has little capital, most of the capital is in the hands of the PAP government, no capital means no growth to world class brands.

well, depends on how you look at it. It you think I'm condescending, so be it. I believe that criticism can bring out the better side anything. Even tiger beer is disputable because it was started when we all were still Malaya. If you go malaysia, the malaysians will claim it's theirs. Likewise for sg. Ok, fair enough, SIA is one. Tiger beer is arguably another one.

no lah, SIA steward and stewardess all now old old, aunty and uncle liao, no class liao....in fact i like Emirates, one of the best food with young and handsome steward on board.
As for malaysia MAS, it stands for Mana Ada System, in english it mean where got system

They won 5star Skytrax, then go on publicity blitz, say what this and that 5star...
Then stupid mad "scholar" came out with the Malaysian thingy, using their IATA code(MH)... And calling it, "Not just a code, this stands for Malaysian Hospitality".The moment I saw that it was epic advertising phail... I mean, of all things, you choose to advertise on something that is not a product?! Advertising on intangible goods only gives a slim chance of breaking it into people's minds(SQ does it well, marketing both hardware and soft service), and needless to say, it was a complete fail.
Then the bosses up there decided to give economy class for shorthaul routes a makeover. And just around that time, they were bleeding $$$ like mad. So cost-cutting went into overdrive, and then they started giving lunchbox(LCC style) to pax! WTF!
Then they came out wif a survey that showed that most pax in econ(IIRC it was 93%) said that the foodboxes were great. Of coz it was great. You have a damn nice packaged box(really beautiful), but the food inside was like shyt... Of coz at first look it would be great rite?! MAS management is damn sly~...
They can go on claiming that they got world's first this that etc., but we all know that these are just empty words...

We got world class brand what,the PAP is famous for their dictatorship n stupidity around the world.
And our PAP politicians are famous for the "world class" Highest paid ministers in the world,irrelevant compare to our country size.
So who say we dont have "world class brand"?

the only real brand we have is creative technology.
but singaporeans generally prefer to support foreign brands.

well, i know internally they still have some problems from the good old days but ever since idris jala took over, it has improved and gone into the black.
their safety record also speaks for itself: pilots are disciplined and well trained. They can hold a candle to SIA pilots.

well, as i dun like to travel budget, i travel to sabah and sarawak quite often in silk air, but since they pull out, i have to take MAS from KL, and their service is terrible, not being racial or anything, they alway like to give their own people first priorty, in Kuching i Q up to get a MAS flight home, cos they dun except net booking, i arrive earlier in the morning to book it, got an afternoon flight, then because of a group of some people came in and they go first, later the service counter tell me no flight for today...damn, i hv to spent another night there for nothing...eating sarawak pineapple.
And on board their 1st class, the stewardness serve you bread by throwing, not placing infront of you and said some nice words, just like my young time school day teacher giving muffin sponsor by delifrance,..by throwing...just imagine that, on a 1st class MAS, i have to hop for a bread. Mana Ada System.

Lucky u , on first class still compliant. Wait till u come to PRC. I dont think MAS treat passenger badly, especially first class. I think you exaggerated.
