I think in term of foods, we are still cheaper and yummy, and in term of shopping and buying, comparing per unit to unit, we are still cheaper, however of luxury goods like cars and housing, we might be expensive due to our land mass and of course...population increase. Just now i just went for lunch with my beautiful young malaysian girl fren, she is working in Singapore as an auditor. A long good classmate of mine. She said, if dun look at the exchange rate, between a person in malaysia earning 1000 ringgits and a person in Singapore earning $1000 dollars, the cost of living in Malaysia is higher, i was somewhat bewildered by her statement, especially from a CPA certified person.
But her explanation was, A bowl of mee at hawker centre in malaysia is abt 5 to 6 ringgit, and singapore is only about 2 to 3 dollars, movie is in malaysia is 12 ringgits, singapore is $8, fashion wears in malaysia is 230ringgit for a Mango dress, and in singapore it is only $125, which i am wearing. So between a person earning in malaysia with 1000 ringgits and a singaporean earning 1000 dollars here, singaporean spending power is still much better and the cost is less.
5+12+230 ringgit =247 ringgits, 1000-247= 753 ringgits left
3+8+125 dollars =136 ringgits, 1000-136 =864 dollars left.
But if your talking about exchange rate, then of course in malaysia our dollars are much more worthy. What we are talking about is a person living in malaysia and a person living in Singapore beside houses, cars and petrol. You think got logic or not?
Anyway,

gct, i like you increase your own salary by 1% only when on average the people's income increased by the same.
your income is high enough already. why need more income?
is not the chance given to you to serve already more than reward you?
if i were you, i would be ecstatic everyday with this kind of pay.
i play golf sometimes also. lets play sometimes.
u play 18 holes, GCT play the 19th hole,...your hole
It is obvious that the Taiwanese 'hum' can expertaly be so knowledgeable about the 19th hole found in its CBM.
With a 19th hole like its CBM - that can only offer its trap when it flap its ‘Labia Majora’ and ‘Labia Minora’ daily in some useless ways in public - it is certain to attract attention to itself as the resident 'Attention Seeking Whore'.
Has it contributed anything of any value to this thread - besides driving it off-track ?
Serious, this forum got no mods huh, everytime got a "group" of people (Or uses clones) saying those vagi*a and Ch** Bye stuffs and can not kena mod one ar??

They value their own talent as well, but also give equal treatment to overseas talent. Note that, by saying talent, I do not use the term, talent, like our govt shamelessly. Talent are those who are in the higher positions, such as high-level consultants or management.
USA has many very good universities, Stanford, Harvard, Chicago, MIT, etc. NUS is ranked in their opinion at an equal standard amongst the top 30 universities.
Therefore you stand an equal chance with their top university candidates.
