dats the idea ...increase n increase using all kinda excxuses.....as long as the medisave cant be spent immediately,.,,thats the main function!!!who here in sgforum is goin to be warded in hospital the following day???surely not all!!anyway medisave is part of our salary!!its not given by the gov...it might as well be in savings or in cpf!!!and cpf monies could be transferred into medisave accounts if needed!!but thats not the intention of the medisave account!

MONEY GOES INTO CENTRAL PROVIDENT FUNDS AND MEDICAL FUNDS AS A COMPULSORY GOVERNMENT MEASURE.BOTH ARE FROM THE SALARY OF THE EMPLOYEE.
CENTRAL PROVIDENT FUND:MONEY IS TAKEN OUT EVERY MONTH TO PAY FOR THE COST OF A HDB APARTMEN AN APPROVED EDUCATION.
MEDISAVE FUND:MONEY IS TAKEN OUT WHEN U ARE HOSPITALISED ONLY.SO THE MONEY STAYS UNTOUCHED BY EMPLOYEE ACCORDING TO STRICT LAW IMPOSED ON THAT MEDISAVE FUND UNTIL HE GETS SICK AND NEEDS TO BE HOSPITALISED,,,,,,ONCE IN 5 YEARS OR 3 YEARS ??NO ONE NEEDS TO BE HOSPITALISED EVERY DAY OR MONTH!AND EVERY SINGLE CENT BELONGS TO THE EMPLOYEE!
HOW CAN SOME GOV TELL U OR FORCE U WHAT YOU NEED TO DO WITH YOUR MONEY???
AND THAT MONEY IN MEDISAVE FUND IS STUCK THERE WITH NO FIXED DEPOSIT INTEREST RATES OR CANT BE USED IN ANYWAY TO MAXIMISE ITS RETUERNS!!
SO IF YOU HAVE $10,000 IN THE MEDISAVE FUND>>>U ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE IT FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN FOR APPROVED NATIONAL MEDICAL OPERATIONS USE WHICH NEEDS HOSPITALISATION

I dont agreed with yr last para.If you go to KK emergency ward, you have to pay $70 (I forget the amount) first before they give u number to go inside.
Should be money first, cure you later.

It's the norm,nothing so fascinating about this announcement.Singaporean are numbed to increases already,what can we do?
Taking away 10 percentage point out of the PRs medical subsidy is no big deal.
Should do more for citizens instead.Foriegners must be charge more when they seek medical care here.No free medical fees,pls.Charge to the respective country gov if and when any of their citizens come here for special and emergency operations.It's not right for the taxpayers here to foot the bill.

no lah, in emergency, you go first, even without paying anything, as what PM said, no one will be left without medical care, no one will be left dying on the street unless one choose to, our medical insitutions will alway abide to the Medicate Board of Singapore first rule, to cure first, talk later.If you go KK and said that you cannot afford the initial payment, which you have yet to try, they will still take you in, but of course you dun expect top surgeon and top ward to be offer to you ya. Because of the concept of Pay and Pay cultivated among Singaporeans themselves, Singaporeans tends to want to pay for everything, it can be they are rich or simply like to pay first. So whenever a counter staff said, pay this and that, they seldom question it, they blur blur pay for it. You have your right to pay later, try it, they will still admit your lovesones.

Sometimes i really feel sad for those PAP ministers n LKY,LHL n GCT parents.I mean their parents send them to study until Universities n even go abroad n study,which i believe they not only hope their children can earn more money n have a better life,but also can contribute to the society.
In the end,those PAP ministers come up with all sort of policies to harm n scam their own countrymen n women money!!!.....What a shame!!!!

Really? I mean if a family come to KK and has no money, the counter staff can direct them to see doctor first? Money later?
If it is truth, then it is a good initiative move by the govt.
