That is not fair. I just ask one simple question and yet you cannot or refuse to answer and refer to read your past posts. Perhaps you have no answer to the question.

policies made by PAP are good. but i have to admit that the way they do it isn't very convincing or satisfying. that is why they have invoked the wrath of much singaporeans. however, they still manage to help the country progress.
It is not so much of a choice as I mentioned that we can choose from both the ruling and the oppositions. The giant GRCs have brought down the quality of candidates. The original idea of inclusion of a minority is an applauable cause. Now to make up the big numbers both can't put all the best in a GRCs and we received the choice of some mediocre candidates.
Yes, in the past when candidates fought with own effort and we seen the result of a flourishing state. But with complacency of getting elected without much effort we get complacency in this present government that is floundering.
The system of good cause has been abused. The present policies aren't as convincing and sound as they used to be hence the resentment.

i agree with you on this. like what 'SingaporeTyrannosaur' said about singaporeans not having enough political space to breathe. it's quite an unfair practice by PAP and i dont see eye to eye with this issue. oppositions are not given a level playing ground to compete and justify for themselves. but that being said, a part of me doubts the quality of most oppositions today.
P.S. anyway, my main point isn't about this. haha. i'm pretty messed up now. my objective in conveying certain message have been twisted all around after reading so much other stuff. haha. nontheless, your point got me thinking. thanks for sharing your interesting view! GTG now.
it is not but the only solution.

Is not about level playing field between the oppositions and the ruling party but between the voters and the candidates.
The voters are being short change in the big GRCs, first by less desired candidates that are voted in with a heavyweight both in the oppositions and the ruling party.
Is like choosing a prepacked basket of fruits one good and the rest that you might not want at all. So buy one and get to throw away the rest. Mind you we can't throw these mediocre leeches for the next half a decade.
Are we prepared to continue with such a flawed system?

You hit the nail on the head. LKY, himself, openly said that PAP = Singapore. Do we continue to uphold such flawed thinking, forever?
The question Singaporeans should ask is "Do we want to contitnue to live under a flawed electoral system whereby everything is skewed in favour of the incumbent?"
Singaporean is NATO. If we continue to talk and not vote more oppositions into the parliament, we will continue to talke the same for the next 50yrs. Thereafter, Singapore and Penang will have no diff.

LKY said PAP = S'pore............did the Old Fark also said LKY = PAP.................
it's ridiculous to split such a tiny island into so many wards.................we should do it like the Finns.............if the opposition get 30% of total votes, then they get 30% of the total parliament seats...............
of course with the current political situation, that won't happen..................

Even US a big country does not even have so many wards.
To them create many wards allows for money to come in for them. Puay kay lky!
Hey seriously.... i don't think PAP should be voted out.
I mean, singapore is doing so well regarding the economical issues.
As for the taxes, well, other countries pay up to 30% so do be thankful.
If you guys wanna have an economically stable country naturally you'll have to pay. There's no free lunch in this world.
I mean, if you don't wanna pay, how do you expect the government to fork out money for housing, hospitals, schools, etc?

Other countries pay high taxes, when citizens grow old the govt take care of them, so don't compare.
You sound like a frog in the well.

I agree. They will still be the ruling party but may lose some seats in
this coming elections. It will take at least a century for them to be
out.

jy700: we do very well meh. where got? I think we are still in a recession or expecting a new recession soon.

jy700:
But other countries earn twice than us. Before getting a deduction of
30%. Lets quote. A garbage collector in Australia earns about $2500 and
gets deduction of 40% of his tax ($1500) vs a garbage collector who
earns $1000 in Singapore without any tax deduction perhaps because he
is of lower income group.

Our medical costs and school fees are pretty high, as compared to other
countries, though lower than US, but higher than UK/Australia. Housing
is one big problem. The HDB has underestimated market demands.

Don't Singapore take care of the elderly too? Well, if we don't, sorry my bad. Cause i really thought we did since there's a thing called CPF.
You sound like a frog in the well.
Lol. I consider this a very impolite sentence. Stop taking things for granted and complaining everything in the world. If you're so capable than get people to vote PAP out for god's sake. Why bother wasting your time typing and bitching? Ungrateful brat.
I mean like.. hello? Do you know how much PAP has done for Singapore even though they kept sucking money? Without them, perhaps Singapore would not have been how it is like today. I used to detest them too. But have you guys ever studies history? Perhaps if you do, you wouldn't be complaining and bearing grudges with them. In fact, I think we should thank them for everything that they did.
If you can't manage to fork out money for taxes, go get a degree instead of complaining on and on.

i don't know who you are to be making those naive comments on how good the PAP is............who knows, you could be one of those dumbass ministers or their spoilt brats...............
if not, then you really need to grow a brain.......................unless you're telling me you're still a little kid in diapers.............or you're just a mindless, naive brainwashed fool...............
AND THERE IS SUCH A THING AS FREE LUNCH.................those over-paid, under-worked bootlicking ministers are sitting on their fat asses having free lunches on our expense...........

wtf, what ungrateful brat. you are bitching now ok.
if you don't gather facts and go ahead post here this is response you will get from people. it is silly to defend pap for the sake of defending them. you no different from eric how..
gst made my pocket burn

Hm...I love Penang, beautiful sand and sea.
ya, especially the penang Laksa....very spicy and cheap...think also sweat liao.
Yes, it good to earn good money elsehwere and return to enjoy the sea and laksa in Penang as tourist.
One day, Singapore will have beautiful sea and laksa too where Singaporean will return as tourist while making a living elsewhere.
I believe the time has come with more opposition in the parliament. At least, I dont think we buy the idea that candidates from PAP is the elite. The quality of the opposition should be equally good if not better.
