Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe plans to regain his hold over the country he has ruled for nearly three decades after being re-elected leader of his Zanu-PF party at the age of 85.
Mugabe appeared triumphant following yesterday's re-election, which keeps him in power for another five years.
The Zanu-PF was severely weakened after it lost its parliamentary majority in last year's contested elections.
Triumphant: At 85, Robert Mugabe has been re-elected for another five years as Zanu-PF party leader
Mugabe was was forced into a power-sharing deal with former rivals after the 2008 poll, but many fear it is doomed to fail as he clings on to power.
'The inclusive government has a short life of 24 months,' he said on Saturday. 'So we must be ready for the elections and we must not be defeated like we were last year.
'We must win resoundingly and regain the constituents we lost.'
A new election date has not been set, but many observers fear that the build up will see the return of the violence that has marred previous polls.
Joice Mujuru, a former guerrilla fighter in the bush war, retained her post of second vice president. John Nkomo was elected as the party's other vice president to replace Joseph Msika, who died this year.
Zimbabwe's ambassador to South Africa, Simon Khaya Moyo, will take over from Nkomo as party chairman.
Zanu-PF supporters: Mugabe plans to reassert his control after the party was left severely weakened in last year's contested elections.
The party has been long divided over who should eventually succeed Mugabe, but the liberation hero has thwarted any challenges to his leadership.
Does this gentle Old Man of Zimbawbe remind you of another gentle octogenarian who share the same philosophy as him ??
Politicians like him and that one who refuse to step down in their ripe old age are excessively power crazy. Perhaps, they cannot breathe without power. Remove power from them, they may die very very soon.

That old....it won't be for too long for him to either leave this world or becoming senile. All men are just passing in this life by after all. I will celebrate when either lky and lhl leave this world to the benefit of mankind.
You are right, life is born, old, sick and die, in fact, you don't celebrate anything. Furthermore, nobody knows what tomollo will bring, you might go first before them.
The ironic of life is when you keep cursing and saying someone, that particular person being said, tends to lives longer and outlive you.

To some or many, he is already senile. One moment said sg does not depend on US then when the financial crisis hit sg he said otherwise. Senile!
Yesh, I, too, will be celebrating. Ha hahaha!

Obviously, a Taiwanese 'hum' has no ability to know how to respect the family lines of the apes in the form of the African gorilla and a South-east Asian Orangutan ?
What family lines has a Taiwanese 'hum' to boast about with its clitoris leading its 'hum' to where the attention is to satisfy its lust as an "Attention Seeking Whore" ?

The life of the Taiwanese 'hum' is to be born, digest the scum on the ocean floor, get sick as it grows old and to rot as it die.
Does it need to celebrate life - when others will celebrate the passing of its life.
Obviously, the Taiwanese 'hum' has already gone ahead before others, and insist on letting its clitoris blab all that it "knows what tomollo will bring" - as it lives a useless life of a 'hum' - begging for attention as an "Attention Seeking Whore".
