Knn, now they blame the young couples. Hello, they are YOUNG (20s-early 30s?), how the fuck you expect them to fork out 400k++ for a bloody HDB unit without borrowing from their parents?
Now, assuming the average guy borrows from his/her parents, he would have to repay that debt (unless the parents are rich..its a different story altogether), and starting salaries for the average young person out there is not really sufficient to cover the costs incurred...
No money, no house, no honey, no baby. Your baby bonuses all give PR lah..whole day MPs bua bodoh, act as though it is always the citizens' fault.

How do young couple pay for 400k from CPF , when they have to go for "WDA" retraining and readjustment to Economy shifts.
You get a contract to work 2 years then suck thumb after 2 years ?
You need to save some $$$ or no children's education funding. Please lor ,

I thought this is common sense. Its true isnt it?
The government should ensure that HDB flats are readily available for young Singapore couples in the first place rather than to ask them to plan well ahead when nobody can guarantee that their relationships will stay intact for the next few years.
Singaporeans should not be asked to pay the price for poor government planning. It is HDB which should plan ahead and increase the supply of flats in the last two years when the rate of immigration is at the highest.
I do not think the Government is God and they know how many people are gonna get married. Quite unfair to say that. So if they build flats then people do not get married, then?
What I do agree though is that flats prices are spiralling. I am amazed that my flat bought for 64K in 1989 is now worth 435K. I am not tempted to sell however because I know whatever I gain in selling this flat will be gone in the next flat I buy. -

If there is a lot of property supply, and at a low price, I guarantee the birth rate will increase.

No lah, they will complain to the party that took over about the high cost of living, high GST, ERP, expensive HDB flats, too many foreign workers etc.
All the problems they created in the first place.
