I think there was some news out today that they will install some water sensors around the area. Yes, it has been happening since the 70s and 80s and only now after public backlash that they are making some feeble attempts to show they care.
As it is, in sg politics, it doesn't matter what you do as long as you give people the perception that you care (even if you don't) ie wayang.

after tat, for 3 - 4 yrs dun care? sometimes i find it cos no one cares (even e citizens) at all totally, aft some time forget abt it

900,000 HDB flats---abt 40,000 for rentals fr HDB to needy family for long n short term, the rest are owned by SC or PR.
PR own abt 42,800 units of HDB as at 30.06.2009, 4.9 % of 900,000 units.
2.80 % of SC household is eligible to buy direct HDB .
