They are too entrenched in the system, even the GICs, Singtel, APB, Temasek, etc, you need to find new replacements.
Half a century of family business.
Think the new folks in power should get replacement for these positions based on merits, not putting their own family members on the board like what the current is doing.

Some ppl like bear said there are no credible opposition, this is precisely what LKY set up the state to be, no opposition or weak opposition. As long as they can hold power, there will never be a strong and credible opposition to take over Singapore.
If you want to rebuild something which has the wrong foundations, you need to destroy it's base and start building it from the start with stronger foundations.
No competition means no benefits for the citizens and no progress for society as a whole.

some of the so called senior opposition party members have little experience leading an organisation. What more a ministerial dept?Even slyvia, a lynchpin of WP, has her experiences limited to legal issues and lecturing in a poly. Can she be a DPM?

What can you expect from 4 decades of supressing the opposition by LKY? We had a very credible Francis Seow, who fell out of favours from LKY and was charged with tax evasion, because LKY couldn't find any other vices to charge this great man.

Let's look at a company like Microsoft. Assuming the top to middle management all go off and the management team from a department comes on to take the job. Wow.
LTK has been managing only hougang all these years and now asking him to manage singapore? Sylvia Lim has been teaching in a polytechnic all these years and suddenly she holds a key ministerial position?
And the only other party which has a ward is Chiam See Tong's PPP but he looks so blur now and there is no clear successor in sight.
Don't these people use common sense? lol

Change is not for everybody, especially those who had it good with this current regime. Afterall, if your family has millions, why would you want to put yoru family's fortune at risk for the benefit of your average brethrens.
