Many forumers want SG follow Hong Kong foot step to have bigger share
of GDP in services industries,like finance.They blindly follow the stupid
advice of western style thinking that when u have higher share of GDP
in manufacturing,u are not a global finance center.
since 1997,HK always position herself as global finance center.
Chief Exec,whether Tung or Tsand,would mention global financial
center at least ten times in any speech.
CE Tsang,using SG as a bad example ,denounced manufacturing not just one time.
He pointed out SG was the first went into recession.
How many jobs can financial services give to HK people?
But the recent direction of HK is just follow SG--

there are 86,000 international students studying in Singapore currently as compared to 50,000 students in 2002. We foresee similarly strong growth in the years to come. There is potential to grow to 120,000 international students over the next 3 years and to 150,000 international students in the longer term.
