It is possible that it is a propaganda device invented by state media to serve a specific propaganda purpose.

HDB price become more expensive, so i can upgrate to more expensive HDB.
maybe she means buy then sell? but who so stupid? buy then sell at high price, BUT BUY ANOTHER UNIT ALSO AT HIGH PRICE.

Sound like ST is going to be a crapbox.
to write in to st forum, one needs to state your full name, NRIC and address.
this will appear to make the forum writers look accountable for their submissions and also act as a deterrent against strongly negative comments.
I suspect mabel tan is a fake.
Done that but never get published, they only select what they like.
To select such crap better change to Shit Times.

I think this bad habit must end.
haha I read ST for info not its commentary and editorial. if you say like that, alot of people in spore buy wan bao, zao bao, newpaper and ST, businesstimes.
i think you are a tad too extreme on this.

I think what she probably meant was she bought her original place in the early 70s or 80s when prices were probably less than 10- 20k.
Over the years, prices appreciated and she used the profits to partially pay for her 5 room flat.
But caveat here is if you bought your flat in the 70s or 80s.

But each singaporean is only eglible to buy new hdb flats once right?
after that if they sell it for a profit they will not be eglible to buy a new hdb flat anymore and they have to but resale flat which is more expensive..
so they don't earn much after that..
