Straits Times chastise unemployed sgporeans for being choosy

The tone was such that unemployed singaporeans are too choosy. What they didnt mention was the high influx of foreigners taking away our rice bowls.
People alrdy unemployed still "drop a stone into the well". lol
The fella who wrote the article, he take a 50% pay cut when unemployed can?

Choosy or exploitation from the ruling party??
A friend who is still financing his housing loan was offered an officer position from NEA which pays him $1100 and so get back pay is only $880. With this amount, it is not sufficient to pay his housing loan. With the take home pay of $880 sounds more like allowance than salary. With the take home pay of $880, it is just sufficient for expenses for transport, meals, paying bills and some amount for contingency that is all.
So with the reality I mentioned above, is this not exploitation by govt who is into supporting , condoning employers to underpay employees? There in the CDC the govt is using trainers to brainwash the employees by stating that the employment trend these days is that staff must be willing to do more, do more than one person's job and get low pay. They strongly urge and encourage employees to accept low pay.
Seems clear that the ruling party is not making life better for us, so why should we give them our vote???

Sounds like you people are all just a bunch of louts who hang on forums whinging about foreigners. Everyone whinges about foreigners, the americans blame the Chinks for taking their jobs, and now you wogs are blaming other wogs for so called taking your jobs.
Foreigners wouldn't be here unless they are contributing. ANd they are contributing because there is a need.
And in my opinion, speaking for the service industry, i am not surprised lesser Singaporeans are in the service industry because they frankly suck at it, they lack grace, civility and genuine empathy. Which is why foreigners are taking up such jobs and are good at it.Before you get upset over my view on local customer service; think about how you people need campaigns to make you more human; smiles, courtesy, romance, hygienic toiletry practices, speech, kindness - the very things that make a person good and moral, has to be done artificially.
And if good service is about being a good person in a society which prides itself on merit, it is no wonder why good people who can do a job end up contributing to society through their work.=======
About wages, yes wages suck tremendously. But understand in China, Philippines and Thailand, wages suck even more. Which is also another reason why foreigners come here.
If you want higher wages, and if you are "unhappy enough" you should start a union with some bollocks. Otherwise remain silent as so many here do so. -

Thanks, I stop reading the propaganda STs.They are sickos. Many still cannot find jobs, I pity those breadwinners who are still stuck in job searching. We are not blessed to have a govt who place public service before their own selfish interest of sucking us dry.

In China or the places you quote they do have bad wages, but they have tons of space. They dont have to pay exorbitants amounts of money just to buy a 3 or 4 room pigeon hole, they just move to the country side.
Asking a Singaporean to take a job with the same amount of pay is absurd, considering the housing loan, utilities bill is freaking high, A foreigner would just have to rent a room or house with a few lads, thrift like hell and in the end of the day the money is not going back to our economy, but back to their country, And when they earn enough or had enough, they didi-mau back to their country to rear livestock or a farm.
What do Singaporeans have to retreat to? A tent in East Coast beach?

Talking about that, reminds me of a FT complaining about the high cost of living here. High in rental, food and essentials. He is seriously considering to get his company to post him to other country.
