The important thing now is not to dig into their past differences, but to learn from their common goal and convictions to fight for a better future for Singapore when they were young idealistic men and women. Even at their young age, they were prepared to shoulder the responsibility to work for the good of all, a quality we don't often see in our young people anymore. Many sacrificed their entire lives for that without regrets.
In typical form to ingratiate himself with the PAP, Leong Weng Kam had to write a piece to boost the sales figures from a cynical reception given to the book that he had collaborated in.
Does LKY and the PAP believe that there is any common goal and convictions to fight for a better future for Singapore when in their minds the fight is the exclusive prerogative of the PAP only ?
Can the remaining average and below-average Singaporean Talents be of any help to LKY - and his PAP cronies and hangers-on beneficiaries - when the have declared that the limited talents in Singapore are all in the PAP to bring Singapore forward ?
How can Leong Kam Weng see such quality in our young people in being "prepared to shoulder the responsibility to work for the good of all" - when efforts by the likes of a young CSJ, a middle age Tang Liang Hong and Francis Seow, an aged but still enthusiastic JBJ - were all mowed down by an insecure LKY and his PAP political machinery that either bankrupt them or jail them without any political civility ?
With the new revisions to the Public Order Act that give arbitrary and unaccountable powers to the Police that further reduce the Political Rights of Singaporeans of all ages to participate as activists in the political process - it will surely result in more average Singaporeans to be convicted for the fight to a better future for Singapore.
Leong Kam Weng's statement is a "no brainer" to start with.
If anyone has completed the book, and the reconciliation is to be believed between LKY and those ex-political detainees - why has there been no publicity given to the return of their Political Rights that will allow these ex-Political Detainees to participate in politics ?
The glaring missing bit is that Chia Thye Poh - the central figure amongst all the detainees - was not even featured, and neither was Zaid Ibrahim.

3 weeks of self praise in the papers regarding this book...I'm amazed how propaganda is applied on citizens, even till this modern day.

if not how to make it a best sellers, remember only Singaporeans buy only, foreigners and FT dun even bother to look at it, so it is kind of a small market, unlike Men In Black, it is an international best sellers ya.

They don't use propaganda to brainwash people to support them, I don't think people will vote for them. Normal people won't go and support PAP fuckers. Brainwashed people maybe.
