Should NS be Reduced or Scrapped?

compare to others countries 2 years and + the reservist period is way too long.
Look at our society today, expecially the youth.
they are screwed up in the head with their thinking and army is one of the way to change those thinking(although some might become even worst).
Reduce it, but not scrap it! 2 years + reservist term is way too long. and its disturbing
for the sake of our country future.
I think we should stay at 2 years or 2 1/2 years not depend on education but on the fitness of the guy. Just like I took the normal 5 years secondary and my fren took the express 4 years. So if you are weak, u learn n exercise slowly, if you are strong, you can serve fulltime 2years ok liao.By cutting it short will clamp up the programmes and make it more stressful, alot of guys already die during running or training in NS, if you reduce to 1 years, the training will be pack and more intensive, this will higher the tempo and more fatty and weak guys will die from it.

take it as natural selection lor..weak ppl die out..strong ppl survive..make sg become like sparta..haha
they could have change the training pack instead to suit a shorter jail term..i meant ns term..those asses up there proffessed to be cream or the corps..surely with their highly intelligent pea brain can think of a solution..

NS is okay. Reservice can be scrapped.

We as Singaporean cannot scrapped National Service or reduce. We can live without PAP but cannot live without NS or NSmen to protect our nation. Remember this PAP is just a political Party not our parents nor they create this nation. So we Singaporean must die die protect this country we live in. Not to depend on PAP to do it.

at my age of 35, go for job interview, interviewer surely ask: "when is your next in-camp?"
what's the chances of me getting the job if my answer is: "in a few months' time" ???
definitely the empoyer would not totally welcome the idea of recruiting somebody, give job training, and before i even fully settle into the job, there i go back to camp...
complains about job vacancies going to foreigners?

you might as well say that no government in all countries are to declare war with another country. No weaponry will be produced, no artillery, tanks, communication devices meant for military purposes, ammunition and anything that has to do with military will be banned.
This way there will not be a need for military training, and most of all national service.
