Since as expected, the asslicking running dogs are too scared to offend the cursed despot, his family and hand picked cronies, Singaporeans should put in more opposition and more of them to effectively do the job that the running dogs with their tails between their legs are too afraid to do.
"Mr. Tharman stressed that the investment company is independent from government interference and that the government prefers not to place any restrictions on Temasek in its search for a chief executive.
"The government does not directly manage the process of chief executive succession. To do so would make the appointment of the chief executive a political decision, which it must never be," Mr. Tharman said. AUGUST 19, 2009 AWSJ"
"Members of Parliament threw question after question at Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam asking him to get Temasek to share with the public what went on behind the scenes but he would not budge.
He said that disclosing the information would serve no strategic purpose and that was not unlike the actions of other publicly-listed companies in the private sector.
'People do want to know, there is curiosity, it is a matter of public interest. That is not sufficient reason to disclose information. It is not sufficient that there be curiosity and interest that you want to disclose information,' he said in response to questioning from Mr Low Thia Khiang, opposition MP for Hougang."
"independent from government interference" Like it is the private money of the cursed despot and family
opposition do what?? please dun sell sentosa away hor
at least try to convince us how you can do better. don't always criticize what others cannot do as justification for you to do.
will you succeed in telling the CEO of Citibank to let you run it since they are not doing well?
i heard last time they sold one beautiful island away, if they take over, i think sentosa will be the next to go

Christmas Island izit?!
So sibei nice loh =(
unfortunately, andyboy forgot the basic tenants of what he barks about: a mandate from the people...
(and i'm not talking about the PM's Man Date which is his husband.. kinda apt seeing the PM's husband runs the show there )
thing is, the people seem to trust the opposition less than the MIW..
now andyboy, if you walk your talk, the first thing to do is to earn the trust of the people.. and the way to earn the trust of the people is by doing the right things... and not barking and bleating the same tired BS which most of the opposition idiots do..
it is hard.. and it'll take time... but isn't that how trust is built?
The Opposition is not a single entity...
before wining, yes, a single entity, but after wining, they go separately, and civil war willl take over
up till today, i have no seen any "potential" candidate for the seat of PM or the government from the oppositions. either they are NATO or too much action, no substance...
just like what the Bear said, we seem to trust the opposition less than the MIW which i totally agree... the reason is; the opposition does not seem to address our issues during parliment. they seems to be just snoozing off.
Next; during election period, their speech is just nice words but no action... after a while, i also sian...
i know someone is going to endorse Dr. Chee very soon but again, that guy is a hooligan, i won't trust my country with him. later he challenge Obama to a one to one fight in UN conference if opinions differ... siao... kana nuke later
you believed that bear ar>>OMG! bear is only referring to his bear community
Kenneth Jeyaratnam seems like a good choice. Been a while since i've seen someone on the opposition writing anything decent without shoving PAP and government every few sentences.
if he's a good candidate, i'm all ears to listen to his speech...
to win the heart, mind and soul of Singaporeans aren't that difficult. the right words, the right attitude and a classy style does the trick.

Agreed.
I don't think Singaporeans are repulsed by the idea of an Opposition, nor like the anti PAP here like to say are brainwashed/repressed.
But the better choice just hasn't shown up yet.

totally agreed... for example if Mr. Chiam See Tong is a little more younger like 30 years, i would believe his style and management would appeal to the majority of Singaporeans.
old guard style with a pinch of generosity... careful with his words and actions... MM Lee never had any clash or verbal assault with this guy...
Wake me up when the opposition has an legitimate issue with the direction of the nation beyond "we need more opposition!".
In many aspect, the opposition shares the same political stand as the PAP, in regards to how should we run the nation.
The momment they realise that the campaign slogan " We need more opposition" is a freaking stupid idea, and actually try tell the general public in what aspect are they different from the PAP in regards to national policies, they might win some votes.
Right now, the opposition parties is essentially the same as the PAP, except for the fact that they are not called PAP, and has an active interest in gaining more political power.
Beside Chiam, Chee, my uncle chia, andrew and a few others opposition, most of those who got potential and talents to join opposition will get a private secret visit by LKY personally and be lure into PAP before even they can make a speech on behalf of opposition.
Therefore, PAP has the control within them. The ability to nip the most talented and able ones is the key to their success. And LKY is a good negiotator, when he pays you a private visit, you better show some respect, from then on, life will be better for you. UNDERSTAND.

Well, it is not the MM Lee dun argue with Chiam, because Chiam make no progress and dun really fight in the parliament, some even said that Chiam is an opposition make by PAP.
Imagine that a ruling party can tell you that they want how many oppositions to be MPs and how many NMPs in the parliament, where in the world can you find a govt saying such thing?? It is totally control.
hope he pays me a visit real soon... please MM Lee, pay me a visit... i know i'm not good enough but what the heck, i'm definitely better than Dr. Chee...
i'll be a good doggy, i promise; woof woof...

Dr Chee can succeed Chiam See Tong. SDP will put up a good fight in this year GE. Imagine Dr Chee is in the parliment, he will put a check on PAP.

er... angel7030... sorry to break the news to you but MM Lee loves dogs... to be very honest with you, i mean frankly and i do not mean jokingly my grandpa used to deliver beef for the two dogs he kept during the early 80s'.
my grandpa used to work as a shop assistant that sells beef and he was always asked by the boss to deliver the beef everyday.

$*&#^ lah...
if you have already forgotten, CSJ stuck one in CST to take over the SDP...
now.. think.. CST was grooming CSJ for leadership of the SDP... CSJ could not wait and then threw CST out of the very party which he founded... and then with that masterstroke of stupidity, he destroyed the whole opposition movement and lost all credibility with the people who witnessed the whole sordid and shameless backstabbing...
we, the people who give a damn, the people who witnessed the treachery and deceit, can never ever bring ourselves to trust CSJ ever again...
hell! open your eyes! the people in the SDP don't even trust CSJ anymore with people like Ling "Don't Talk Cock!" How Doong and his other cronies who helped him oust CST quietly abandoning him...
so, CSJ to take over CST's mantle?
tell it to the marines...
well, ppl like steve chia are good candidates but what had we do to support him. he dare to question and fight for the ppl. in the end he got tired and got out.
if we need opposition PM, it has to start by giving them the chance to serve. can a PM candidate pop out of nowwhere and u demand him to have the credentials?
we first have to start support good candidates like slyvia or jeya son la. judge him only when they start to serve. if they are not in parliament to voice out, how can we say they are not doing anything right?
