i have a hard time understanding leadership structure in Singapore....as i come to the conclusion basically there are none at this moment......hence there are no direction too at this moment.
Right before Prime Minister National Day Speech.......the news paper actually published LKY speech for Singaporean. (Put the content aside) make you wonder how confuse it is for Singaporean to figure out who is the real leader. A leader before a leader’s speech.
Dual messages, dual leaders. Singaporeans are seeing things in 2.....the effect of drinking too much Tiger Beer.....
Instead of positively motivate Singaporean, our leaders choose to release piece meal negative message separately. So what is the Real National Day speech?
So in short LHL basically gave a Hang In There tomorrow will be a Better Day speech ….And LKY basically said Singapore is Doomed Tomorrow if we don’t import foreigners.
It makes the Singaporean wonder if they have to work harder --- in the bedroom or in the work place?
So Correct Me if I am wrong…..if I put the 2 messages together…this is what I got…
Don’t worry Tomorrow will see better day, we will import 2nd tier foreigners to solve our woes if not Singapore is Doomed.
Doesn’t it make Singaporean Feel So much Better now….. : )
Were there only 1 message before the expected piece from the PM, or was there not an earlier one from The SM too ?
This PM needs a SM and a MM to beat the ground and the bushes, and see what will come out of the bush so as to allow him time to adjust his sights.
If Sunday's National Day Rally is expected to be anything different, it will be only the color of the shirt worn by LHL ever since GCT broke the traditional white.
The standard fare to be expected will be the usual condescending speech in talking down to all Singaporeans.
The speech will begin with an address that the Singapore Malays have done better then last year but will need to do more; the Chinese will need to think of increasing their birth rates - (without actually saying that the majority position will soon be lost to the prolific birth rates of the Singapore Malays); a bland statement of admiration for the self-dependence of the Singapore Indians in pushing themselves in all spheres, and lumping the Singapore Eurasian community into the final summary in English.
The National Day Rally is nothing more then a set piece role acting of a hero's return after a heavy year battling the demons, it is like Julius Ceasar's return to Rome to speak to the gathering of the council members.
Can the PM be anything close to Julius ?
It is all pomp without any real substance of accountability, all the bang and smoke without anything real for Singaporeans to chew on.
If there is anything real to be expected, it will be more warnings of hardships, higher taxes that will surely come amidst any freebies that is planned to be given.
Should we pay to watch another clownish act ?
Better for the time to be spent watching G.I. Joe in action at the nearest cinema than turning on the TV.
The time of year has come again. And each time I tell myself not to listen to any bull. But i can't control my wrectched fingers and turn the TV on everytime. The outcome is always the same. I'l kpkb and off the tv. I remember every year they will crack a joke that is not funny at all...
Of course there was one that was really funny was mee siam mai hum. But I dun think that was intentional.
And to Add.....
So your sex life sucks and limit career opportunity and now Tom Dick and Harry will come and compete for your crapy job.
It just leave a bad taste in my mouth.
do political members have easy access to drugs like marijuana, heroin etc?after looking thru everything i do notice as if the person in charge of spore has been doing those stuff for years!
sad to say but drug users worldwide do own and run businesses maybe run countries too by hook or crook.
I gave up totally.
National Day I was fishing offshore, the 'speeches' were totally disregarded - I was on Discovery Channel and NatGeo all the way. More informative and revealing then any speeches by any one of the "Holy Trinity"...
why listen to a politician who deny your right to vote?
YOU GOT NOTHING BETTER TO DO?

and one speech 3 millions dollars, die die also must say something mah
both speeches were worth to listen. they covered different grounds so should not be compared. but i will hope to hear our pm to cover more on other topics instead of putting much emphasis on religion harmony. i believe most of the singaporeans are religiously harmony. only a small minority are cauing problems to singapore religious harmony. overall, i find MM's speech interesting and meaningful. onwards singapore!
sure interesting, we paid him 3.75millions to make that speech ok, not interesting meh?? die die also interesting.
Now, I am going to tell you all a secret within these speech about racial harmony issue,...it is not so simple as you heard it thousand of times..dun u want to hear from me??
do keep in mind, high pay comes with high responsibility especially in such a important job. he has done well. but i worry for our next pm. till now there is still no clear candiate or a least a potential one yet.
ya, agree that racial and religious harmony has been covered so many many times, especially during the adware period. lol.

you must be able to understand the in depth of the speech given, perhaps your understand of his speech is only on surface value.
High pay does not neccessary come with high responsibility, high pay peoples usually can afford to get scrapegoats to hold the responsibility for them, if nothing wrong, scrapegoats enjoy life, when something goes wrong, scrapegoats get slaughtered
If one can't write properly, never mind, simple English will do. Why use difficult words when one even does not understand the particular word. As for the grammar, need I elaborate? However, this NOT-ENGLISH SPEAKER, writing here (in this instance, it seems more like typing) is apparently oblivous to her predicament.
As for the views and so-called arguments put forth - moronic outbursts

When you have a lot of money and don't have to worry about surviving day by day, you can say anything you want.
Life will only get tougher for majority of Singaporeans from now onwards.
Haiz.

excuse me sir,...you..ya you!!! the botak one..can i have your IC please, yes, your IC please, you dumb or what???
Ok, you are charge under section IV of the littering act para 5 for illegal spitting on the floor in the public, fine $500.
Perhaps the ruling party, the father and son see benefits from foreigners more than locals hence the crap from them.
Foreigners like the maids are better protected than our locals.
IN good times they claim credit, in bad times they ignore the people's needs and go on focus on the foreigners.
What Singapore is lacking is committed govt who truly serve the nation with their hearts and souls and place public service as top priority.
With such existing leaders in sg I don't see any light to come, we will only sink deep into the dark.
To me they are hopeless to help us out of the dark.
