1) A 49-year-old H1N1 patient, with multiple health problems, died on Saturday afternoon. The Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a statement that he died of a heart attack, contributed by severe pneumonia and H1N1 infection.
2) MOH added that a 55-year-old man, also with multiple health problems, is the latest H1N1 patient to be admitted to intensive care.
3) A 13—year—old boy, who was admitted to National University Hospital’s Paediatric ICU on Sunday, died on Wednesday morning. He had epilepsy and the cause of death was due to prolonged seizures, (status epilepticus) with H1N1 as a contributing factor.
4) The fourth fatality was a 42-year-old Chinese Singaporean woman, who suffered from had thyroid disease.
5) A FIFTH patient in Singapore has died after developing complications from Influenza A (H1N1).
Ms Kuan Lay Kim, 34, died early Monday morning at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). Ms Kuan, who was suffering from acute myeloid leukaemia.
6) Singapore confirmed its sixth H1N1-related death on Sunday.
The 29-year-old woman is the first H1N1 patient in Singapore to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) without underlying medical conditions, apart from being overweight.
7) A 51-year-old Indian woman with Down’s Syndrome and high body mass index (BMI) passed away Wednesday afternoon of pneumonia caused by H1N1.
8) A 78-year-old Chinese man with no medical history passed away on Thursday morning. He went to Alexandra Hospital’s ED on 4 August with a one-day history of fever and shortness of breath.
While in ICU, his condition deteriorated and he passed away on Thursday morning. The cause of death has been certified as acute myocardial infarction, with Influenza A (H1N1) pneumonia as a contributing factor.
We have no idea whats going on! Currently Singaporeans are just trying to be optimistic, hope and pray that nothing will happen to them or their loved ones.
