Is it not odd that prior to the confirmation of Mr Goodyear to takeover from the Jinx, his thoughts and views - to lead Temasek forward - have not been thoroughly probed ?
Why should this occur less then 3 months after Mr Goodyear has left his previous position and join Temasek ?
Does this mean that Temasek Holdings will have to pay a few million to Mr Goodyear as compensation for the inconveniences caused to his career plans ?
This show the lack of due diligence on the part of Temasek Directors in executing their corporate duties.
The BIG QUESTION is why is this lack of due diligence a characteristic feature in the manner in which businesses are conducted at Temasek Holdings ?
It happened during the takeover of Shin Corp that resulted in a furor which revealed shady dealings that contravened local laws.
It happened during Temasek's attempt to takeover banks in Indonesia and India, in which it was found that Temasek had again contravene local laws in the stakes that foreign companies are allowed to hold.
It seems that the Politicians make useless corporate leaders, even as LKY claimed that corporate leaders have the essential qualities to become Head of State.

Mr Goodyear did not do his homework well. You are dealing with Sg government and there are alot of secrets which you cannot access. Just like the late Mr Ong T C when he was the Sg President and could not access certain information on Sg savings. What happened, he was not given second term in office.

Whether goodyear is being compensated is all up to his contract, but that is not an issue, Goodyear is in no doubt a remarkable financial person, but however, state own financial policies, rules and regulations is totally different from his Privately own finanical insitutions that he works before.Prior to all these, it was well know that foreign talents had never get a strong hold on state corporation top seats, same goes to the former DBS ang mo chief. And contrary to all these, it is more wise that state own insitutions should be guided by local rather than foreigners, these are true in Malaysia and indonesia and most of the countries.
For the past few months, Goodyear had initiated a few intiatives to move Temasek out of it red, and Ho Ching will continue to guide these intiatives to it objectives. In another words, Goodyear is nothing but an advisor and a scapegoat during the downturn whereby the local leaders do not know what to do until Goodyear arrived, layout the new initiatives and foundation, then when things are going abit fine before sunrise, they kick Goodyear out and here come my Aunty to grab the Glory
