Is S'pore more unwelcoming towards foreigners than New York

It's not in Georgia or Mississippi, where the Southern traditions still stay. NYC is very very diverse with a place full of all sorts of immigrants. It had outlawed slavery of the Blacks about 70 years before the whole nation outlawed it. All sorts of culture take place in this bustling city and call it the land of the free. This is true for Toronto and Vancouver as well.
Anyway, even you also can migrate there to shine. Or your kids can do so one day.

Not really lah. It's just an upbringing we had received since young. More like reality. I dun think we shd kowtow to usa ppl if they are here especially.

I dunno if I reject or disapprove those foreigners in Sg, but I cant stand their habits. for instance, their foreign accent and language when speaking their own languages in buses and mrt. also when taking mrt, a group of Indians came in and can smell their body odour for example.

their accent and language is not their habit, given time they will pick up singlish, will you accept them by then?
I guess many poor indians don't have money to buy body deoderant, which brand you use? may be you can recommend the cheap brand you use.

ya, the NTUC had build a NTS Centre for all these workers, now there, they teach them about manners, body cleaning, traffic road, laws and order of singapore. There is a canteen and some shops up for tender,,,perhaps can sell perfume there,..or indian's magic oil or soap. -

I wanted to post this reply in other "ethnicity threads" But i thought this would be my entry...add some spices.
For those who think TS is a racist....perharp TS only reflect our perception of race.
TS have brought up the subject of openess in our mind sets and question how "diversed" is Singapore.
Post independent generations are brain wash to 4 official races. The rest of the ethnicity in Singapore are marely" Minority" We don't even give them the recognition of origins. Today they are only known by Street Names.
In this thread no a Single person mentioning Arab decent Singaporean? Jewish Decent Singaporean? But look at our History.....and you would remember:
David T. Marshall, a Jew of Iraq origins, became the first chief minister of the Republic.
Dr. Yayah Cohen Surgeon General
Dr Ahmad Mattar - former Minister for the Environment - Arab decent.
Edmund William Barker - minister of Law
Benjamin Henry Sheares - I don't need to explain who he is.
Today if you think 4 races are multi diverse cultural than ALL of you are WRONG. It is the present of minority that gives Singapore the sense of Multi Culture society. 4 is not multi. 4 is only quattro.
Ironically today our cabinet minister are so limited in minorities representation. Saddly we are loosing our minorities residents. I am not sure about culture diversity in Singapore we merely evolved to a CingaPoreF. where our middle name as a CPF initial.
PS: I don't considered temporary resident minority.
