You can have all the workers in the country working OT and it can result in higher GDP. However, having all the workers working OT, does that means the economy improved? Why do you need workers to work OT instead of getting more workers?
In a extreme case scenario, you can have a country that 100% export and gain high GDP yet their standard of living is low. Do you know that inflation can actually "improve" GDP?
Now tell me, how is the GDP calculated? GDP is nothing but a rough overview of the country economy, let me stress this word, rough.
Let me add in another point, Singapore have no minimum wages law. We can achieve low unemployment rate, but are all the employed have the minimum standard of living? What is the standard of living? Is it to let one have the minimum entertainment accessible to him/she? Is it to let one have the capability to upkeep a family?
I can keep going on and on and you will still not understand what I trying to point here nor I will give a obvious direction what I trying to make you understand here.

GDP tight to wages, OMG, you must be joking, you tell me Uncle, how is GDP calculated, I am a fair gal, if you do it right, 2 bottles of chivas no problem, but if you are taking GDP with wages, i think you are far far off the mark.

I don't where or how you think that I said GDP tied to wages. GDP shows a rough overview of country economy. In general, GDP also give a rough idea on how much unemployment rate will exist in the country, a high GDP will have a lower employment rate. However, the existing minimum wages law increase the unemployment rate in all the countries that have them but this law ensure the workers to able to maintain a minimum standard of living.
In Singapore, there is no such law, due to the fact that Singapore go for a free labour prospect, it is difficult to achieve such law without causing more problems. However, such law is common in all developed country but not in Singapore yet. Due to the lack of this law, employment rate in Singapore is lower than other countries, it is also due to lack of this law, employee can be less paid and some even not been paid enough to meet the minimum standard of living.
I think when I said I add another point, you seem to lost right after. Seem like you only thought about GDP, and only GDP.

GDP = consumption + gross investment + government spending + (exports − import
So yeah, GDP does show a rough unemployment guage like what Lu5ck mentioned.
Export's only a component of GDP

unemployment is tie to another title call GNP not GDP.

GNP = C + G + I + NX +NFP
NFP = payment to foreigners for inputs used in producing goods and services, less money the economy receives for selling the same factors of production.
The only difference in the formula is NX + NFP, which means ( Net exports + Net factor payments), this diffence in formula only deals with values of production less the selling price, not unemployment rate.
Saying GDP is roughly tied to unemployment rates is not wrong.
