  I heard that version also. David wrote a fantastic thesis that claimed to be able to transform water into oil. Professor cannot take it anymore that a young undergraduate can do so much better than him. He murdered David & throw him off to the ground. He use a knife to stabbed his back then.

  That scholarship is nothing. David could afford to pay for his tuition fees. he's already in his final year. why get depressed over scholarship revocation when you're already in the final year and could afford to pay the fees?

  Morale of the story. If the scolarship is offered to Singaporean, none of these would have happened. David would not have died. Professor would not be injured. One more Singaporean can benefit.

  No moral of the story don't come to Singapore for study. They offer no protection of law for foreign students. Foreign students are liable to be victims of homicide and to add to injury defamation.
  
  Had David chosen instead another scholarship from another country instead of LKY's Singapore he would have still be alive today.
  
  David came to Singapore thinking it was a perfect island of harmony and prosperity while in fact it's a concrete jungle run by tyrant lee kuan yew regime.
