Well, what i can say is you have potential to join PAP.

true..most Forigner are here to earn $$, but when they earn enuf..some will leave, others will migrate to other countries like canada or U.S, however what i cannot really tolerate is when they come to work here AND bringt their families here to treat this country like a "hotel" is unacceptable, and to make matters worst, your TAX money is used to pay for some schools "scolarship" for their "foriegn" students, if this was in numbers of a few, it would still be ok in my book, but more and more are coming this way, to add salt to the wound, some would scoff at our "education standards", others would just break the bond knowing full well that our govt would be making the long term loss.
as for inevitable, i guess that the problem on the poplation issue lies within it's foundation, since the lack of stability jobs to go around here is a main contributory factor to that problem, coupled with companies wanting to go for more "cheaper" resources and trying to find "loopholes" in the system thus brings us to our present sceneario..add the govt trying to flood here with FT/FW..would you still find this acceptable when shoved to your face?
i find it totally outrageous and unacceptable , i resent it coz the matter is getting more and more worse, and we singaporeans are taking both the blame and brunt of it with little or no help from our govt.

Most expats tend to treat this place as a "hotel" because they can. The govt allows them to do so. Many Singaporeans like you find it unacceptable and intolerable, but the expats couldn't care less, simply because they are here because the govt welcomes them; it has nothing to do with the people.
Also, for many (or most) expats Singapore is not the last stop. It's merely en route to a PR or citizenship in Oz, NZ, UK, Canada, or US. The govt knows this, the expats know it, the citizens know it....but there's no remedy. If the govt tries to enforce NS, no one will take up citizenship. And if they try to retain CPF money, few will take up PR. See, it's a vicious cycle. The govt wants new citizens/PRs, but cannot succeed if they change the rules now.
Expats prefer Singapore because it's the only outpost that lets you have the cake and eat it too.

I don't get the bold parts.
With regards, to the TS's article, it makes senses to integrate new migrants into our society because they consists a big part of our population for the time being. Anyway, this is globalized era - networking with people from all the over world would probably proved to be useful in the future. Just like what happened in the past, our ancestors came here to find new opportunities, and in turn their descendents have the advantage to network with other asian countries because of our heritage.
With influx of workers, yes the job market is becoming more competitive. It caused alot of frustration and pressure. For any policies implemented, there is always pro and cons and It is about balancing the pro and cons. The government made a lot of decisions based on benefits of the economy and most of the time it kills the social benefits. But you think about it, everybody will be enjoying some of these benefit as long our economy continue to prosper - though there are some additional problems that come along with these benefits.

It might change if a Singapore passport or citizenship no longer makes emmigration easier, when both our local-born and naturalised citizens turn out to be unsavoury people in the next country they migrate to.
umm, out of context

But that is highly unlikely, isn't it? I can't imagine native Singaporeans becoming unsavory wherever they migrate to. As for the naturalized ones, of course there is the possibility. I think the next decade will throw up more by the way of answers.

It is up to your own interpretation. Period.
the way i see it...only sg ppl knows how to bully sg ppl.
let this CC guy try mixing with the foreigners day in n day out
what matters more are those foreigners willing to convert to singapore citizenship. they are willing to say sayonara to their motherland, and we must be gracious enough to welcome them.
as for those foreigners who just treat singapore as a stepping stone, i have no comments.
what matters more are those foreigners willing to convert to singapore citizenship.
I think there will be a very destabilising effect on national identity if the flooding of foreigners continues.
...The once almost universal equivalence between residence and citizenship may be weakening. If the ideological state continues to develop its likely characteristics, persons of different ideologies and thus of different allegiances may become intermingled on the same territory. The number of refugees and resident aliens is now increasing in most countries...
http://real-world-news.org/bk-quigley/20.html
It would be interesting to find out the ratio of resident aliens in Singapore and local born citizens and compare it with other countries.
I think it would be one of the highest, if not highest in the world
I won't be surprised if Singapore govt is the only govt in the whole world that treat foreigners much better than their own country people.

Our PAP regime is really quite an abnormal government.
It is truly unique in the world.
You cannot in this world find another government that is like our PAP regime.
MP Charles Chong speaks about integrating new migrants
Charles Chong, I would rather you think of more ways to help create jobs or improve public services than go and talk about "integrate migrants" into Singapore society.
Now economy is bad, people cannot find job, but still hear you talk bullshit about integrating foreigners into Singapore society really makes me want to give you two tight slaps across your mother fucking face.
pee ay pee jinx gang takes turn to show off how "capable" they are on foreigners issue and bad mouthing the locals. I wonder who is next to badmouth local. Can place bet on it.
I notice there are more and more chinese TV shows that like to criticise Singaporeans.
Keep on criticise Singaporeans, criticise, criticise, criticise while pampering foreigners.
yes, mediacorpse showing all the nuisance programmes. Put down, make fun of locals and por the PRCs. I refuse to watch the stupid show. PAP encouraging the foreigners to make fun of locals. Shitty, feed them yet bite the hands that feed them, bloody PAP. bloody lky faster die better
This PAP regime is getting more and more rubbish.
I am commited in bringing them down.
Hope once that bastard Lee Kuan Yew dies, the entire PAP can collapse.

In that case, will u join me in the mission of exposing the leechgime to foreigners to discourage them from converting to citizens. let's frustrate their plan.
