hmm, from an economic viewpoint, is it a good thing that we are the most expensive location in SEA?
This makes the money grabbing greedy ruling party very happy.

No good for investors... but all developed countries are facing this issue... good life standards but with a low cost, it seems impossible for small/medium size countries...

Tax is calculated on percentage no ?
What can you expect from a country that tries to take as much of the people's money as possible through their Gcronies Link Companies?
What can you expect from a country that arrested Dr Chee Soon Juan and friends for protesting the high costs of doing business?
What can you expect from a country that has a cursed despot with a gambling addiction and "so called" ministers that are in reality his asslicking running dogs?

What logic is that?
Your salary being driven down by competing foreign talents from PRC, India and Philippines and your cost of living is going up.
Less salary and higher expenses, you sure you will have more money to visit other countries?
If you are a common worker, you might not even have sufficient money for retirement, you will need to work till you kick the bucket.

What positive sign are there? Basically Singaporean are loosing out in SAVING to Asian counterpart as we push more disposable income to pay up basic necessity living expenses while our counterpart actually paid less and Get more.
At the end of the day we are not better than our counterpart in the regions.

Are you implying that the taxes collected goes to the ruling party, which is PAP?
You are more ignorant than I thought you were.
Funny how singapore can be an expensive location given that we use so much cheap foreign labour in most job sectors.
That means the main bulk of costs cannot be attributed to labour costs.
WEE! what a blessing to live in such an expensive place.
hmmm..can show my customers and charge them high high.
Thanks

well, anyway it is an honor to work in one of the most expensive place.
Let say, a Public Relation hostess.
For Singaporeans, I got two of them working as leader (supervisor), their paid is $3k basic ++ CPF ++ all employment benefits as per employment act.
For PR, I got three of them working as assistant leader, paid is $2k basic ++ CPF ++ a PR status benefits
For Work permit holder, I got 15 of them, including cleaners, washer, waitress etc etc, their basic is $1k ++ contract benefit as per se. ++ lodging.
For illegal ones, I paid them on per day basis depending on nos of bottles or liqurors opened + room and the ability to attract customers.
On top of all these, extra tips and
Doesn't matter, those angmoh FTs are still paid ridiculous amount of money.
