Did he deny outright that he was not a commie? We could have become another North Korea. As for detention without trial, almost every country has it, e.g. Patriot law in USA. At least he wasn't like Aung Suu Kyi, kena almost whole adult life in house arrest
He not anglo dog.

Rephrase, political adult life. The paragraph states he was only answerable to the people, so? Free democratic Malaya? I suppose the democratic people's republic of north korea is also a democracy. Yes and everyone "wants" peace

You are making allegations without evidence.
In a startling and revisionist essay, Dr Greg Poulgrain of Griffiths University observes that the British Governor of Singapore and his Chief Secretary in their reports to London had admitted that the police could find no evidence to establish that Lim was a communist.
At that point in time who would admit being a commie, being a fatal move? Even if he had taken power, why do you think life could have been better?

No evidence means no evidence.
No evidence you still want to allege that he is communist.
What sort of bullshit logic is that?
So you also communist?
Got evidence, no evidence you are also communist.
Rubbish.
Perhaps they just couldn't find any. Anyway the guy is and has been dead for 15 years, what are any of you gonna do abt it? Bitch in forums? When it comes to the crunch, how many of you are willing to get out from behind the screen? I always think, unless you can do a better job, dont complain.
Perhaps they just couldn't find any.
You are determined to pin him down as communist.
Devan Nair was communist.
That is confirmed.
Nair became one of Mr Lee's bitterest critics, saying that he had
created a repressive regime. He also accused Mr Lee of being an elitist
whose views linking genetics with intelligence were demeaning to
Singapore's ethnic Indian and Malay minorities.
None of those
remarks appeared in this week's media coverage, which focused instead
on Nair's beginnings as a communist agitator who campaigned against
British colonialism and was imprisoned before he switched his support
to the People's Action party, which has ruled Singapore since 1959.

then i suggest u dun complain about the people. dun like what u read here don't come
That is typical of every state. Not restricted to singapore. Even the US with its "freedon" has also seen suppression. Genetics do play a part in intelligence. I could put two children in the same enviroment with the same benefits, but both would be undoubtedly different. The issue with LCS being a commie may or may not be true, unless you were born at that time, you would never really know for sure. However you also can't assume he would be any different from our current govt system. Whatever the PAP did that time is in the past. It matters not now

Of course it's real.
Not only Devan Nair was a communist but also Samad Ismail.
They were communist agents sent by Chin Peng to keep a watch on the PAP.
But later Devan Nair sided with Lee Kuan Yew instead.
Samad Ismail
1954 (age 30): Co-founded the People's Action Party (PAP) with Lee Kuan Yew, the future Prime Minister of Singapore.
