What are the qualities of life when the city u are staying come with
endless ,serious and at arm's length crimes.From drugs,drive--by shooting,
drive and explode like this one and the endless ATM blow up!!
when this kind of survey will put Freedom etc as part of the survey,
SG will be squeezed out of the top.Do we have a right of free from crimes?
Do we have a right that kids cant get drugs as easy as buying a coke
from 7 Eleven?

Criminals blow up Al-Aseel Restaurant in Brighton-Le-Sands

A 4WD vehicle has been deliberately blown up by balaclava-clad thugs, wiping out a Sydney restaurant, while another ATM has been destroyed in a huge explosion in a crime-fuelled night.
Witnesses told The Daily Telegraph they saw two men in hooded tops and balaclavas sprint from the restaurant in Bay St, Brighton-Le-Sands, only minutes before the vehicle and building exploded into flames shortly before 11.30pm.
The now destroyed Lebanese restaurant, Al Aseel, had only been open for a few weeks.......
''St George Bank ATM at Georges Hall which was severely damaged from an explosion, is one of a number damaged ATMs that are under investigation by police after thieves have been filling them with Acetylene gas and ignited them, blowing the cash boxes from the machines. Pic. Bill Hearne''
St George ATM outside Chatswood Railway station is searched by Police in after robbers were disurbed putting a gas into the device in order to blow it up. Pic. John Grainger

Cut Mercer some slack. They clearly state you're welcome to disagree.
From the Mercer site:
"People perceive many different things when they speak of quality of living. While everyone agrees that a high crime rate is undesirable and the air we breathe, the house, the environment we live in should be clean, there is great diversity in ideas about quality of living, thus reflecting the different use of the term and different understanding depending on age, gender social position, etc. of the person."
Although Quality of Life is a broadly used term, it should not be confused with what Mercer refers to as Quality of Living. In fact, Quality of Life may involve a subjective assessment or opinion, whereas Mercer’s criteria are objective, neutral and unbiased." -
And this is the list of non-Australian cities Mercer thinks is better than Singapore:

these aussie are stupid assholes, go blow up ATM for what, i heard that in india in indonesia, they uproot the whole ATM machine by a crane lorry and take it along.If you talk about Singapore, in a high tech society, people use genuine faked cards cor finger nos scanning technics to counter the machine, no harm done at all.

spent a couple of years in sydney. Came back unscathed. In terms of things to do, the quality of life there is much better.
Met a lot of expats in Singapore and tell you what, all admitted that they are here for the money. If they tell you they moved here because of safety concerns and cleaniness, infrastructure etc, that is just to make you feel good...singapore is sterile.
