Meritocracy In Singapore --- A Mythical Illusion

I always wonder how come when people at the top screw up big time, they are still drawing big salaries and retaining their jobs.
This is called meritocracy?

That's funny, considering how we are always comparing our local universities to renowned foreign universities...wait, was it MIT that is the latest?
Sheesh... comparing apples with apples... that's mean we are supposed to compare our education system with uhhhhh our education system? Wow, that's almost self referential. Don't think I am capable of pulling off such a feat, so forgive me if I pass. Little point in convincing one who is so adamant at seeing the faults of our education system anyway.
