the binary logic goes this way:
If you think that Singapore is going down after LKY is gone,
then that means
you believe that he is doing good things for Singapore when he is around.
Singapore will be better off without the arrogant senile old dictator.
can't wait for his demise, I am getting impatient.
According to the shameless egoistic senile dictator - he claimed that he has prepared his team well, without him team will still go on.
Only the propaganda press is selling the idea that the counrty will go down after the cursed despot dies. Some people of course will suffer when he is gone, namely his cronies and his dogs. An Obama will rise in his place if the people can get rid of his "fix" the opposition "cancer of the anus" son.
Actually the country is already going down even before he dies and of course it will continue to go down after he dies because he has setup a system of cronyism and nepotism. It is more to do with what an asshole he is and not how good he is.
Which, as a gentle reminder, I predicted in sgforums, some time back.

you believe that he is doing good things for Singapore when he is around.
I think if the old dog is still alive, people will still have the fear to rise up against the PAP regime, but when he dies, slowly the fear will be gone and people will rise up against PAP regime.
That is what sometimes happens to autocratic dictatorships that revolves around a cult figure.
For example in Guinea, after the old autocrat dies, the military immediately launched a coup.
A military officer appeared on television in Guinea on Tuesday soon after news of the death of President Lansana Conté to announce that a "National Council for Democracy" was taking over the government, news agencies report...

Or China after Mao was dead:
On 8 September 1976, Mao Zedong died. The next month, the Gang of Four was arrested. Hua Guofeng, who had replaced Zhou as Premier, succeeded Mao as Party Chairman. Deng returned to the good graces of the Party and the government and subsequently eased out Hua as Premier in 1980 and as Party Chairman in 1981 in favour of his allies.

Or USSR after Stalin:
De-Stalinization refers to the process of eliminating the cult of personality and Stalinist political system created by Soviet leader Joseph Stalin.
Stalin was succeeded by a collective leadership after his death in 1953. The central Soviet strongmen at the time were Lavrentiy Beria (in charge of the Ministry of the Interior), Nikita Khrushchev (First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party) and Georgi Malenkov (Premier of the Soviet Union)...

I hope the old dog dies soon.
I am tired of seeing his fucking face and listen to his filthy bullshit propaganda.
maybe the only reason why PAP is still clinging on as the dominating party would be due to the 40-60 year olds in singapore, because they have witnessed the growth the singapore more-or-less, which translates to LKY's success of governing the country
furthermore, these 40-60 year olds are not as it-savvy as youngsters today (majority at least), and fail to look at the other side of the story which is NEVER shown on national television due to media censorship, newspapers, radio stations, TV news. as such..the majority of the voters will tend to vote for PAP..
we need to give it some time before the younger generation, who participate more actively, like in these forums, get a shot at shifting the political power in singapore through their votes.
because they have witnessed the growth the singapore more-or-less
They also witnessed the decay of Singapore society more clearly than most.
how to when those who voted for the opposition still think that PAP is better. sigh! singapore has no hope
