Not sure if you have read the report from UN on democracy in Singapore which was released last year. That was an unfavourable review of Singapore. Thanks to pay and pay.
The solution is simple, embrace democracy and join the leagues of the international union. If singapore were to survive the nex decades, it has no choice but to do this.

But singapore is seriously lacking in this international relations thing. They just dont have the bargaining power. Bargaining power needs active involvement in international affairs. Not just in trade and economy but other matters as well..
On international view, we are just as weak as the 3rd world countries.

If he did not have an influential father who owns the UIC Group of Companies with links to the various Government establishment - the young man would have been rotting longer then the seven months he had experienced.
Like Prof Tommy Koh, Mahbubani chosen path brought him out of Singapore's reality during his long period stationed as Singapore's Representative at the United Nation.
Both Prof Tommy Koh and Mahbubani are aware of the politics in Singapore, but prefer to be less forthright in stating the political reality in Singapore and simply tow the Government line and to be in their service.
It is such a waste that their intellectual talents were not put to better use in the service of Singaporeans needing clear thinking and strong minded persons to represent us in the 21st Century.

young mah, we youngsters like to roam the world, see the world and hv fun mah, you last time also like to travel and leave the country rite, but at the end of the day, we will all flew back to our original nest.Sor far, I hv left singapore to go oversea, i had been to Sentosa, st John island, sister island, tekong island to see my bf and also JB shopping.
