When instituitions are run by cronies (Geylang Serai market is run by PAP Kampong Ubi CCC!!).... they can get away with murder like the Geylang food poisoning case.
The monk loan money to PAP MP can, but cannot loan money to his assistant!!!

Not exactly - when the PAP MP got the loan, he was not yet an MP.

He is an MP now, right? The trial is going on now, right?

So, what was he saying? That he would not have taken the loan or that the loan amount would be different if he was an MP then.

Just had my lunch & here goes:
What r u trying to drive at?. Of course he is an MP now & the trial is on going rt now.
My point of contention is that u stated "The monk loan money to PAP MP can, but cannot loan money to his assistant" which is not exactly the situation. Please remember staff of Ren Ci can apply for a loan including the monk's assistant & nowhere did I say he cannot.

Of course I know he was not an MP then, but he is an MP now. You mean what? The one that was not an MP then is different from the one that is an MP now?

Excuse me , even if I were a Psychologist/Psychiatrist, how on earth can I know all the likely permutations of what the MP will say in response to your above-mentioned question.

Did my post ask you to try to figure out what " the MP will say in response to your above-mentioned question."?
I am asking you a direct question, "The one that was not an MP then is different from the one that is an MP now?"

Alamak! amazing logic & interpretation - now the question of a chameleon MP is in the process of actualization ha ha !.
Are u a clone of the real Andrew?. Are u trying to take a dive on me in respect of this on going hilarity?
being a buddhist, we r told dat insulting a monk or wrongly accuse one will result dat we will bound to go to hell.
i dunno know who to believe? the 154th media who often making so many hooha n resulting case like huang na's mum becoming rich. maybe some of the things may not be the truth.
wat i feel is money can result one to become greedy. if u r in a position of in change of big money, i believe not many pple can withstand temptation not to take some of them.
the sight of people like shi ming yi going to court in monk's robes
and pastor kong going to court in his priest's robes
irk me.

Our political leaders did not set a good example.
Instead, they promote greed by shamelessly paying themselves highest pay in world.
Some political leaders in foreign countries try to set an example for others to follow.
Fernando Lugo's presidency started with an announcement that he would forgo his monthly salary. “I don't need that salary, which belongs to the poor,” said Lugo.

Bolivia leader halves his own pay
The Bolivian new left-wing President, Evo Morales, has cut his
salary by more than a half to a little over $1,800 (£1,012) per
month.
The decision means that the salaries of all Bolivian public sector
employees will be reviewed, as no official can earn more than the
president.
Mr Morales said the money saved would be used to increase the
numbers of doctors and teachers...

In our country, the political leaders sets no example for others and inspires nothing.

thats obviously some bullshit the religion came up with to protect itself isn't it? can you imagine all the stories of the buddha forgiving people and even the man who tried to kill him but gave up and still had the chance to become the buddha's disciple.
and here you have some shitty story about being illiterate if you damage a sutra or being punish by karma if you're rude to a monk?
never brought any of those bullshit, if anyone's going to hell, going by their karmic laws, first one's that shitty little monk or is someone going to come up and tell me they're issued magical robes that protect them from karmic laws which might explain why ming yi wore his all the time.
This is the stupidest trial I have ever met. So far all the hoo ha has produced is that the Monk loan money to his people and all the money, the loans, were repaid.
That is is keeping with the compassionate nature of a religious organisation.
You can't even help your own people, your offer of help to outsiders sounds so fake!
Compare to this....
The money that was donated for "worthy causes" the money that was for "extending the work of JESUS" ended up in somebody's pocket and do you see the despots going after him?
I understand there was a Buaya, dressed in yellow, shedding tears in court yesterday.
By some co-incidence, he had worked previously in an import/export company, selling reptile skins.
One of the comments made: "Staff needed to be paid"
But this is the first time I come across any organisation rewarding their staff with supp credit card, with uncontrolled & unlimited spendings.
Lots of people, behind the facade of religion attracts millions into their coffers. Priest/Monks/Pastors/Sheiks/ owns big houses, drives fancy cars. It's all business. Greed has blinded these people who could have started out with a noble cause.

True, i dun blame them, men are born with greed. The more the merriers, who would want blame having too much money.
However, there is one person i know who is good in nature, no corruption, no greed, no taking advantage of power or abuse it, but he ends up being the loser, an outcast and out of mind. That person is my Uncle AndrewPKYap. He is too clean to win anything. Through his example, we can say that being good, open and clean can only bring frustration, cursing and failure in life.
no amount of tears and past hardship can justify why he can draw a salary of $16k a month, sit in a Ren Ci mercs and those expensive hotels and handbags.
that is why i love bad guys, monk and innocent looking guys are the most dangerous.
From a monk to a monkey, from the head of a monastry to the head of monkey business. I am going to protest outside the court tomollo, i will write big big..from monk to MONKEY!!!
One gal protest legal hor.
I used to have some respect for monks and almost none for monkeys.
It's quite the same situation with the monkey but the monks' reputation are getting ruined by one monkey.

One person protest is also not legal. you need a permit to do a public speech. the "5 person rule" just carries a bigger punishment, and applies for all crimes, not just protesting.
But Hong Lim Park is open to you to protest if you wish.
Perhaps i might want to consider respecting monkies in the zoo more than monks!
