Initially SGForums had its zenith.
Then Stomp, Hardwarezone, competed with it.
Now there is a problem, there is a fractured structure, too many sub-forums.
With regards to Speakers Corner, the biggest problem lately is the existence of extremists and radicals.
These extremists and radicals completely turned Speakers Corners from a relatively intelligent, interesting, informative, mature, forum, into some kind of "Twilight Zone" where it is getting very bizarre.
There is one particular extremist who like to repeat the phrase "dog". Dog this, dog that.
Another radical likes to link disparate and unassociated events with PAP. Eveything this PAP, that PAP. It is getting really tiring.
These kinds of bizarre behaviour severely drag down the quality and athmosphere of Speakers Corner. Nobody can have a serious and intelligent discusion here anymore.
I think the serious people who are interested in politics do not visit Speakers Corner anymore. Mostly the ones who visit this subforum are Chit-Chat people or other general forum users.
In the past, even real politicians have visited this forum and made posts, with their real name. There was one particular politican who did so. A young opposition politican.
I cannot imagine such cases happening now. Nobody serious would want to touch this forum.
So this is the case.
What I can see is that the moderators should be more strict and think of something to make this place alive again. Be strict and be more active. Speakers Corner should be positioned properly.
