HDB contructed this way to implement the habit of hanging clothes outside of the kitchen window is flawed to begin with.
It has caused so many deaths. And some may even result in killer-litter.
Why can't people either get a clothes dryer, hang their clothes in-doors, at the balcony or just a small part of the corridor?
For private houses, it doesn't affect anyway.

How many deaths because of hanging or retrieving the poles?
i think they should design some sort of mechanical bamboo poles with levers instead so that i'd be easier to retrieve and hang clothes...
