It's a stalemate at the moment, and another coup de'tat , whether or not sanctioned by the King will not resolve the issue. The issue as it stands can described as a political stasis, the people in the north support the People's Party (New TRT) because of the Agrian reforms Thaksin instituted are die hard supporters of the Thaksin faction. On the other hand, we have the urban dwellers of Bangkok and other major cities, and people in the South who are for the Democratic Party. At the moment, pro Thaksin forces seem to hold an advantage in terms of the electoral process, but faces a passionate minority who reject their rule. I think in this case, the King has to exercise his constitutional mandate and call for a power sharing government, otherwise those pitch battles on the streets of Bangkok will just go on.

At the moment there are NIL "pitch battles on the streets of Bangkok" (at least nothing worth speaking of) because the Thais believe in non-violence and only civil disobedience.
The judiciary is no longer under the control of politicians in power and are now independent.
Thaksin, with money provided by Singaporeans might engage "merceneries" which would lead to civil war if the police and army cannot catch/stop them.The monarchy is obviously on the side of the civil disobedience protesters and the military is on the side of the monarchy. Any violent protesters/protesters disrupting normal business would be dealt with. Violent protesters/protesters disrupting normal business would not have the support of the people.

aiyah... why bother with LOS when the flame is already in our country? Their IDOL of the King also Diam Diam so we also no need to worry about them lah. It shows that the situation is not bad enough to warrant the King interference.

Don't care about this and don't worry about that... and that is why it is I and not you that predicted this current mess in Singapore more than a year ago in sgforums (you can check). Not that I want to boast, you understand, I am just staing a fact.

ye have my utmost respect for prediction. IMHO, how much we care or how much we predict we still hiding in forum KPKB. Yes, just can KPKB.
Oh, maybe we can join NATO. No action talk only. I admit I am a bloody coward hiding in a temple. But I guess most of us are doing the same thing..
We can state facts but we cant change them. We can change if at least 50% singaporean got erected and start marching into the istana and voicing out the displeasures and grieviences. By then will be too much for the police to handle. Yes until then we cannot do anything here, now or anywhere.
However being said that..... remember the CHINA TIANANMEN slaughter. Too much protestors then army will come in with tanks and crush you and grind your bones. Then the paths in the istana will be red carpet for the unholy trinity to walk. Wow, what a grand way of welcome.

hah? he is obviously fighting for his own cause not for us, the people of singapore are not the ones he's sacrificing for. we might not even benefit if he succeeds, just changing from one despot to another.

That's because the Thais hate the corrupted Thaksin but he simply won't fade away. Thaksin's the one instigating violence. He has nowhere else to go so he try every means to make a comeback.

Name them. Post the links and show us how many, the violence related to teh protests. Like I said, the triple murder + 1 in Singapore is worse.
