Who wants Thaksin?
Ass licking dogs that are more interested in what Thaksin can throw on the floor for them to pick up rather than acting in the interests of the country... and the rural folks with their 30 baht health care plan
Intellectuals are those who think a lot. They may or may not have money and/ or power.
How do you define intellectuals? In most countries, "intellectuals" are those who have the money and the power.

eh? scary right? Things are happening AFTER I said them... not so much that it happened because I said it but that what I said will happen are coming to pass.... when I think about it, even I am scared, especially when it comes to the curses....

VERY THE CAN!!!! But actually, the rest of the world.... (other than Singapore and Singaporeans, most, it would seem) take everything in their strides...
I would love to fly to Thailand and witness the civil war but unfortunately, I have work to do in Singapore.
The Constitution Court on Tuesday banned Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat from politics for five years and dissolved the ruling People Power party (PPP) and two other coalition parties, Chart Thai and Matchimathipataya, over voting fraud cases.
"As the court unanimously decided to dissolve the PPP, therefore the leader of the party and party executives must be banned from politics for five years," said Chat Chonlaworn, head of the nine-judge court panel.
"The court had no other option," he said.
The verdict came amid a confrontation between Somchai, the brother-in-law of ousted former premier Thaksin Shinawatra, and anti-government protesters occupying Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports.
Somchai was elected by parliament on September 17 after his predecessor, Samak Sundaravej, was forced from office last month for appearing in television cooking shows.
The judge, wearing a black robe with a scarlet collar, read the order live on national television.
"No matter whether you are satisfied or not with the verdict, we ask you to accept it," he said.
The verdict said the party must be disbanded because PPP executives had been convicted of vote fraud after elections in December 2007.
"Although some party executives had no knowledge of the election fraud, the law stipulates clearly... the party must scrutinise its executives thus the party cannot deny responsibility," Chat said.

Thai airport protests called off
Thai airport protests to end, flights to resume
BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) — The leader of a group of anti-government protesters in Thailand says the weeklong siege of Bangkok's airports will end Wednesday morning.
A government official says the first flights out of Suvarnabhumi international airport will leave for Rome and Sydney on Dec. 5.
People's Alliance for Democracy leader Sondhi Limthongkul said Tuesday that thousands of protesters who have been camped at Suvarnabhumi international airport and the domestic Don Muang airport will leave by Wednesday morning.

Hey guys
It's my first time posting here 'cos I thought this issue is very important. My boyfriend is a Thai and he is a PAD supporter for the following reasons:
Personally, my friend and I felt that the PAD shouldn't have camped at the Bangkok Airport for safety issues especially with regards to the tourists. However, he thinks that the PAD had no more options and cannot let the country be run by the corrupted government.
I guess not being a Thai, I can't fully understand the rationale behind the PAD's actions. But yea, this is just the point of view from another Thai. Seriously, both sides are unhappy. Hopefully, the revered King will deliver a brilliant speech on his birthday (although apparently, there is a rule that the King is not allowed to be involved in politics but only travel to help/reward the poor).
Cheers.

- Thaksin's party constantly won the elections because they bribe the rural people using the tax payer's (mainly the businessmen) money
- The peasants are brainwashed, had attacked the PAD previously and even threw bombs at them but the police acted as if nothing had happened
- Simply, the government IS corrupted

The rural people look at the 30 baht (S$1.50) health care scheme and without asking how the Thaksin's government can afford it, they are nevertheless delighted to be the recipients
Singaporeans are supposedly more educated than the Thai rural folks but they are nevertheless ass-licking, despots fearing, kiasu, kiasi kiachenghu and "don't know what to do about "legal corruption" Silliporeans.

How did Thaksin's party take money from the businessmen? Most countries take from (tax) the rich to give to the poor. how will the PAD, or its supporters intend to help the poor? their own money?
The PAD had occupied the airport, disrupting business for days, but the police acted as nothing had happened.
Whether your government is corrupted to not, it is not the tourists' business. why are the PAD holding the tourists at ransom? now some tourists had died in car accidents in order to fly out from other airports, are PAD not partially responsible for such deaths?
the Thai people are saying you have demoncracy, but a democratically elected government must be agreed by Mr. Lim, the military, and finally the King. Here in Singapore, we only need to have the agreement of Mr. Lee. I think we are more democratic, no?
if "the PAD had no more options and cannot let the country be run by the corrupted government" then they are allowed to occupy airport, disrupt business, hold tourists at ransom, you are sending the wrong message to people like AndrewPKYap. Luckily, his medicine works.
A systematically orchestrated demise of democracy in Thailand.
Thier constitution for the judiciary is flawed in the first place. The ruling n subsequent ban in terms of technicalities, tell me if there is not one politician that doesnt even invole money politics at all.
Anyways, we'll see whats gonna happen. The message has been sent out already. If the anti-gov protestors can bring down the government , so can the pro-gov protestors do the same thing. N the army is going to come in again as situation deteriorates n in the name of peace n stability, puts its leaders in it. Or they may have some kind of election , and the processs repeats itself. Further setting back country another 10 yrs.
.... and the commoners loses.....
it's all power play - everyone wants to be chief....
The elites go back.. to thier big house n thier big cars.. n shop at the malls while the rest of the people becomes jobless n poorer.
lol..
Fools. Too easy man..toooo eaaaasy...

So you're saying, the reason for all these problems in Thailand is that the rich feel they do not have to contribute to help the poor?
Right now what i can see is that it's the will of the minority that deciding who can make policies in Thailand. That doesn't sound like a democracy to me.

This is exactly what I was told. No poor people could drop everything and camp at the airport buildings for so many days. The PAD are rich businessmen, they can afford.
the problem comes when Thaksin is perceived to have taken money from the businessmen and give it to the poor, in along the way, Thaksin's family interests is also taken care of, and the businessmen felt they were left out, so they say he is corrupted.
In the past, it was the government and all the businessmen, the poor was neglected.
Sad to say, its all about uneven distribution of money. In the end, the poor suffers.
